Cannon, 91, a lifelong resident of Winooski, died peacefully Tuesday, May 20, 2008, in Birchwood Terrace Health Care in Burlington. Francis was Winooski on Aug. 28, 1916, the son of William T.

and Evelyn (Chicoine) Cannon and was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier School. Francis was employed for 30 years at the American Woolen Mill and more than 25 years at the University of Vermont from where he retired. He loved fishing and gardening. Francis is survived by three brothers, Thomas Cannon of Essex, William Cannon Jr.

and his wife Ruth of Colchester, and Raymond Cannon of Indiana; two sisters, Cecile Flynn of Winooski, and Betty Hine and her husband Paul of Colchester; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Cannon; a sister, Margaret Breiner; two brothers-in-law, Clayton Breiner, and Bernard Flynn; and two sisters-in-law, Barbara Cannon and Jeannine Cannon. The Cannon family wish to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. James O'Brien, and to the entire staff at Birchwood Terrace Health Care for their care and kindness. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 23, at 11:30 a.m.

at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Winooski. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic School, 5.

He was survived by his wife Betty Delphia; three step-daughters; two sons, Joseph Delphia, Henry Delphia two sisters, and many others. Services will be held at Elmwood-Meunier Funeral Home, 97 Elmwood on Thursday, May 22. Visiting hours are from 4 p.m. until the service. Donations can be sent to the funeral home.

CLARK HINSDALE JR. CHARLOTTE Clark W. Hinsdale Jr. of Charlotte, a non-smoker, who at the age of 76, passed away of pulmonary fibrosis, a lung disease. Clark was born in Burling- and Funerals Held ton, Dec.

27, 1931, to Marion (Preston) and Clark Hinsdale Sr. He attended the old Champlain Elementary School and graduated in in 1949 from B.H.S. on the corner of Main and South Union St. He graduated from the University of Vermont College of Agriculture in 1953. He was an active member of the Ag club and Alpha Zeta.

He was captain of the U.V.M. track team his senior year. He ran cross country in the fall and won the hexathlon trophy that same year. Coach Archie Post and his family were also personal family friends. He was a member of the Delta PSI Fraternity.

He was student government president and a member of the Boulder Society. He attend'ed alumni events, especially Boulder Society meetings, faithfully, each year. Following college, Clark served his country in the United States Army for two years. After completing Ranger training at Fort Benning Georgia, he was stationed in Fort Lewis Washington. Clark was employed by Eastern States Farmer's Ex- ried change and its successor organization, Agway from 1955 to 1968, holding management positions in Spring- ning field, and Syracuse, N.Y.

He maintained and cherished life-long friendships with many staff and farmers he met and worked her with during those years. Clark was proud of his New England roots stretching back to the Mayflower and enjoyed his association with Historic Deerfield, an organization that keeps the history of his and other early colonial families alive. Clark is survived by his wife, Irene Croteau Hinsdale, and their children, Jacob and Laura. He is also survived by his older children and their families, son in Clark III, his wife Suzanne and sons Toby and Andrew; daughter Mindy, her husband Bill Blackford, daughters Alyson and Molly Bull; and Michael and his sons Tupper and Kyle. He leaves a sister, Marylin Fletcher, husband John, sons Jay and Doug and their families, and many cousins, nephews and nieces.

Services will be held at the Charlotte Congregational Church on Saturday the 24th at 2 p.m. with burial to follow in Grandview Cemetery. Evelyn was born in St. Albans, on Jan. 23, 1916, the daughter of Oliver and Josephine (Thibault Cross. On June 2, 1936, she marMaurice LaBell who predeceased her in 1991. Evelyn held several jobs including working in a canfactory, at the Woolen Mills, the Fanny Allen Hospital, VT Furniture and Richards Furniture.

Evelyn was very proud of children. RACHEL P. LAFLIN JERICHO CENTER Rachel Pearl Laflin, 66, died Sunday, May 18, 2008, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. She was born on June 27, 1941, in Morrisville, the daughter of the late Harry B. and Jane P. (Hale) Alexander.

She married Vaughn Laflin on May 24, 1963, in Woodsville, N.H. Rachel worked for many years at IBM where she made many good friends. After retirement, she spent many hours working on the family geneology. She also loved to do puzzles and read historical novels. She cherished time spent with her family, especially the family reunions every year.

Rachel was a kind and gentle lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She leaves her husband, Vaughn of Jericho Center; their son, Danny of Hinesburg; sisters, Elizabeth Foster of Morrisville, and Elaine Alexander and partner Phillip Ward of North Hyde Park; brothers, Donald Alexander and wife Mary of Burlington, and Kenneth Alexander and wife Avis of Johnson; sisters, Dorothy (Alexander) Godin and husband David of Craftsbury, and Debbie Alexander of Morrisville; sister-in-law, Martha Alexander, wife of Harold, of Waterville; and many well-loved nieces and nephews. Rachel was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Dennis. A memorial service will be held in Plains Cemetery in Morrisville at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant Essex Junction. EDMUND C. SISS UNDERHILL Edmund C. Siss, 58, of Underhill, died peacefully Monday, May 19, 2008, in the Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington, surrounded by his family. He was born in Paterson, N.J.

on Aug. 15, 1949, the son of Albert and Irene (Stibritz) Siss of Wycoff, N.J. Ed was a graduate of Ramapo, New Jersey High School, class of 1968. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army.

On May 17, 1981, he married Robin Duncan in York City, N.Y. He had been employed as a technologist in the banking industry for over 30 years, the last 10 years as a Senior Programmer Analyst with Fidelity Information Services at TD Banknorth in Williston. He was a member of St. Thomas Parish. Ed grew up in his family's bakery business and is a 3rd generation Austrian-German baker.

Ed used this gift to provide the best chocolate brownies and NY Cheese Cake for St. Thomas fundraising events and was always ready to volunteer his time and energy to anyone who needed help and support. Ed was an accomplished cook and an avid reader of science fiction books and a loving husband of 27 years. He is survived by his wife, Robin of Underhill; his mother, Irene Siss of Long Island, N.Y.; his brother, Steven Siss and his wife, Carolyn, of West Milford, N.J.; his brother-in-law, Bobbie Duncan and his wife, Sabrina, of Underhill and nieces and nephew, Heather, Matthew and Meredith Siss, and Lyric Duncan. He was predeceased by his father, Albert Siss in 1989.

lences, please visit www.readyfuneral.com. RUTH C. CLARK WOLCOTT Ruth Marion Condon Clark, 81, died Monday, May 19, 2008, in Copley Hospital in Morrisville. She was the daughter of Clifford and Lorena Symonds Condon of Hardwick. She was a 1945 graduate of Hazen Union High School.

She married Chester Clark of Hardwick on Oct. 25.1947. Ruth and her husband, Chester, operated a farm in Wolcott for 40 years. Ruth enjoyed reading mystery novels and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Sharleen Crossman of Morrisville and Janice Fleury of Marshfield, three grandchildren, Gail Beck and husband, Peter Beck III, Adam Fleury and Nathan Fleury; three great-grandchildren, Gracie, Sawyer and Sophie; a sister, Lillian Farr and husband, Harold of Gilman; a brother, Ernest Condon of Hardwick; three aunts and an uncle, Evelyn Gonyea of Newport, Bertha Dodge of Morrisville, Mildred Sholan of Hardwick and George Symonds of Hardwick; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Chester on July 11, 1996; parents; and a sister, Frances Choquette. Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 22, at 2 p.m. at the White-Fiess Funeral Home, 165 Brooklyn Morrisville. Interment will follow in Waterbury Center Cemetery. MICHAEL W.

DATTILIO STAUNTON, Va. Michael Warren Dattilio, 61, husband of Marsha (Scott) Dattilio, of 1906 Old Greenville Road, Staunton, died Monday, May 19, 2008, in his residence. He was born Nov. 21, 1946, in Burlington, a son of Warren and Mollie (Robinson) Dattilio. Mike grew up in northern Virginia and graduated from Annandale High School and then Southern Illinois University.

He worked for the Virginia Department of Corrections for 26 years and was employed at the Cold Springs Unit in Greenville, Va. Mike was active in the soccer community and was a founding board member of Staunton AYSO. He volunteered as a referee and youth coach and was a dedicated supporter of the Riverheads High School soccer program and worked with the coaching staff of the RHS girls soccer team. In addition to his wife, family members include two daughters, Lora Scott Dattilio and Elizabeth Scott Dattilio, both of Staunton; his mother-in-law, Nevlin Scott of Buena Vista; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Karen and Hugh Field of Glen and Teresa and Steve Jacobs of Roanoke; a nephew, David Field; and nieces, Sara and Sydney Jacobs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his fatherin-law, Marshall Scott.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 22, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel, Staunton, by the Rev. JoAnn Bunn. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, immediately following the service at the funeral home, and other times at his residence.
