Method: Sift together the flour, salt and sugar. Add shortening, melted chocolate, egg and vanilla; mix together until smooth. (Dough will be quite.stiff). Mix in rolled oats. Roll out between' two sheets of waxed paper to %-inch thickness. Cut into rectangles 2V4 by 3 inches. For a decorative edge, use a pastry wheel for cutting.
