"In a cold case, you go back to zero, start over and run down every lead and that's what our detectives did. They have put in a lot of man hours and worked long into the night to make this arrest." The LaSalle Parish Sheriff's Office also is assisting in the investigation. The investigation is still ongoing, and Hilton said there is no further information to release now. CENLA BRIEFS United Way total inches up The United Way of Central Louisiana is moving closer to its fundraising goal of $2 million.

This week's total is $1,416,768.67. The fundraiser will officially close at the end of December, but United Way Director of Operations Debbie Dove said donations are generally accepted for a few months after the close of the campaign. Police seek man wanted on charges Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office detectives served a search warrant Thursday at an Alexandria apartment and arrested one woman, but are seeking a man who was not at the residence, according to a release. The search warrant was obtained based on information Thursday in connection with the death of Dorothy Eyvonne Rosier of Pineville. Rosier's remains were discovered in November by hunters near Trout in LaSalle Parish.

She had been missing for almost three years. At the time of her disappearance, all of her possessions were left behind. When she disappeared, Rosier was 25 and the mother of three young children. Man sentenced for stealing ATVs A Houston man was sentenced to prison Wednesday for his part in a case involving stolen all-terrain vehicles that already saw two Kinder men sentenced for their roles, according to a release from U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley. Luis B. Calixto, 46, of Houston, was sentenced to 57 months in prison and three years of supervised release for interstate transportation of stolen vehicles.

Calixto and his Kinder co-defendants, Shaun Cody Gauthreaux, 26, and Allen Joseph Morehead, 29, all were charged in December 2011 with conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen motor vehicles in thefts committed In Cenla parishes and in Texas. Morehead was sentenced in October to 39 months in prison and three years of supervised release. Gauthreaux also was sentenced in October to five years probation. All three were order to pay restitution of $309,933.78 each. "(I went back) to be a good example for my daughter," said Michael, 28, who received her master's in radiologic sciences. She had received her undergraduate degree at NSU. Michael was one of nearly 900 students to receive degrees Friday during fall commencement at NSU. Graduates ran the gamut in age and represented all stages of life. Ali Ezernack, 32, balanced working, being a mother of two and pursuing her master's in radiologic sciences to further her career.

"The health-care industry changes so much, and this will put me one step closer to administrative duties," Ezernack said. Michael and Ezernack were experiencing the same feelings on graduation day excitement and relief. Ashley Tillman, 25, and Mea-gan Moulliet, 22, crossed the stage Friday as friends who met during their four years in the College of Nursing and Allied Health. Tillman said it was her four was very proud of his daughter. "It's been a great accomplishment," he said.

"I know she's glad it's over." As a Natchitoches native, Gerald Besant II, 22, said NSU was the obvious choice for him, as was majoring in business administration. Moulliet said she couldn't pick out a memory that most stood out to her from her college experience. "It all stands out just that I stuck it out, and I'm here today," she said. Their families were there to support them on graduation day. The acts are suspected to have been committed between May 1 and Aug. 1. Pineville police, working with U.S. marshals, started looking for Lavelle Davis in July after police received a complaint. Police started arresting suspects in July.
