'The dramatic and musical entertainment, entitled "All For the Love of Johnny," last Sunday evening was witnessed by -another over-crowded all were more than highly pleased at having been present. The frequent applause indicated that all were enjoying the entertainment throughout the1 entire performance, and the manner the participants rendered their parts every applause was justly bestowedj Each character displayed their ability to render their parts with the qualifications of any expert or professional actor who travels with large and noted companies. Such plays as trie one presented on this occasion are certainly instructive, and lessons of Christian fortitude and such as should be presented to people more frequently. To attend them and note the Christian theories and acts as presented, both in words and action, would be a great lesson and benefit to all people, and instead Of marring the work of any Christian creed or nation, would have a tendency to be a betterment toward all nations.

At their home, one-half mile south of town on the McArdle county road, Mrs. Gilbert Shaffer pleasingly entertained the Ladies' Aid of the St. Mark's Lutheran church last Thursday afternoon. There was quite a large attendance, those from town being, conveyed to the Shaffer home by means of autos. A most pleasant time was enjoyed by all who participated.

Refreshments were served by the hostess. When driving into Fort Wayne auto drivers are warned to be careful, as the city officials are rigidly enforcing-the ordinances as to speeding, parking and stop on on or cross-ing'certain boulevards and streets. All are designated by signals and signs. In one day there were over one hundred cases before the police court. and Mrs. David Marquardt, at their west end residence on Washington a pouncing big baby boy, about the mid dle of the past week. Davie and wife are rejoicing- over the event and both mother and babe are getting along nicely. Harry Battenberg, who has been confined to his. bed at his farm rest dence in-Madison township, four miles south of town for a month past, has recovered sufficiently to enable him to be up and around again, and was in town Tuesday.

His appearance and greatly reduced weight indicates that he experience'd quite a severe siege. His many friends are pleased to greet him about once more. Miss Rose Murphy, of Fort Wayne, attended the funeral of Mrs. Favery held here Tuesday at St. Rose Catholic church.

Miss Murphy resided here many years in the early days of our town. "Nick" Long, a barber of Fort Wayne, visited his father, Attorney John Long, of Barnhart street, his sis ters, other relatives and friends, here Monday and Tuesday. The residence of Edward Boyer, on Allen street, was repainted the past week, the work being executed in a very creditable manner by Gilbert Shaffer, assisted by Joseph Boyer, who is not an expert in the line of spreading paint, however, he is quite an adept in the art. It is reported that John Knox has purchased of Charles Parnin, a thir-teen-acre tract of land located on the Lincoln Highway, near the former, town of Townley. Oliver Martin, conductor on the city line of the Fort Wayne street car system, with residence in Fort Wayne, visited his brother Burt and family at their country home northeast of.
