Snouffer, an attorney-at-law, of Fort Wayne, was in town Tuesday, making his acquaintance with our people, more especially with the Demo? cratic voters of this part of Allen county, as he is seeking the nomination on the Democratic ticket at the May 6th primary for the office of presenting attorney.

His practice as a lawyer and member of the Allen county bar is with ex-Judge John Egge-man, and has a large following of intimate friends in-the city. As an attorney and knowledge of the law is versed and well qualified to the position. He has a number of acquaintances in Monroeville. Mrs. Clarence Clem is again seriously afflicted and on Tuesday morning was taken to the Methodist hospital.

Fort Wayne for treatment. Her present ailment is ear and neted trouble, as physicians term it "mastoid" trouble, and it is reported that she will be obliged to undergo an operation, which will be of a very serious and dangerous nature. On arriving at the hospital, the examining physician decided that it was necessary to perform the operation at once, which was done. Mrs. Clem underwent the operation bravely, and as we go to press reports are that she is getting along fine.

Jacob Schlemmer, of Monroe township, and Barney Pappenbrook, of Jackson township, on Wednesday last filed with County" Clerk Elmer Sturm their certificates as candidates to the state convention to be held at Indianapolis, June as the democratic representatives from Monroe, Jackson and Jefferson townships. They are both loyal and staunch democrats and have always been in line for the principles of democracy. Louis Edwards is an aspirant for the same position on the republican ticket. M. Jackson, of the People's Drug Store, is also a candidate to represent Monroe, Jackson "and Jefferson townships on the democratic ticket.

Hia democracy is loyal and' staunch. Miss Dollie Shaffer is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Shaffer; near Cralgville, Indt, assisting in caring for Mrs. Shaffer and 'children, who are all down seriously afflicted with measles.
