Mounted on the nose of the 1,300-pound craft is a 90horsepower engine build from spare parts he collected all the way from Texas to Alaska. He said with another year of tinkering in his garage and basement, the plane should be ready to fly. It resembles a stubby Ford tri-motor and is covered with cotton fabric. The first flights will be FAA tests of the experimentally- rated plane, and Meek admits that the first 90-mile-an-hour cruise will be as much a test of his memory as It is of the plane. sometimes you can actually pay a lower price for higher quality.
