Two warehouses are being constructed near the Chicago North Western Railroad north of the highway, but the area now lacks adequate water service for fire protection. The taxing district, ap- proved by the council Monday night, will' finance construction of and 12- and 16-Inch water mains into the area.

Tax revenues generated by the increased property value of the area will be used to pay for the utility, said City Manager George Langmack, in a memorandum to the council. The water system Improvements are -expected to cost (250,000. The new district will contain two warehouses, named Central Holding and Tri-L, plus undeveloped land suitable for further Industrial expansion. Tax revenues produced by the existing assessed valuation of the proposed district will continue to be used by taxing bodies such as the city, county and school district. The establishment of the TIF district will not affect the present toning of the areaj nor does it authorise the condemnation or stalling electrical service and lighting at the Wakanda purchase of property by the city in the district.

Bonfire plan put out A request by Menomonle High School students that a city ordinance prohibiting bonfires be repealed was withdrawn Monday. Students had asked the council for a change in city statutes so bonfire could be lighted at the school's homecoming Sept. 26.
