Moellers was a member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Church and was a former president of the Ossian Senior Citizens. causes. 1T Tako E. Ubben (1 924-2008) APLINGTON Tako E. Ubben, 83, of Aplington, died Sunday, May 25, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, of natural causes. He was born Aug.

21, 1924, in Butler County near Dumont, She was born Aug. 25, 1917, in Worthington, daughter of George and Alma Streit Tobin. She married William L. Holscher on Sept. 10, 1940, in Earlville.

He died Aug. 23, 1982. Mrs. Holscher was employed as a health inspector with the Black Hawk County Health Department until retirement. Survived by: a son, William G.

(Jean) of Polk City; four daughters, Roseann (James) son of Tako and Reka Miller Ubben. On June 3, 1949, he married Grayce M. Kuperus at the Christian Reformed Church, Austinville. Mr. Ubben graduated from Ackley High School, Ackley, in 1941.

He was a butter maker at the Austinville Creamery, and worked for the Waterloo Courier as a circulation representative between 1964 and 1984. He also had an insurance agency in Aplington. Survived by: his wife; four sons, Tod (Colette), Randy (Lisa) and Timothy (Deanne), all of TakoUbben Janice Holscher Cory of Cedar Falls, Diann (Bud) Hanson of Waterloo, Carla Aykroyd of Niles, and Barbara (Louie) Hagarty also of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren, Rod (Mary) Cory, Cindy (Paul) Gerken, JoAnn (Dean) Kruger, Jeff (Jennifer) Aykroyd, Dan (Jenny) Aykroyd, Tim (Laura) Aykroyd, Louis W. Lichty, 85, of Parkview Nursing Rehab Center, formerly of Marshalltown, died at the care center Sunday, May 25, of natural causes. She was born June 27, 1922, in Marshalltown, daughter of Anton and Marie Stahl Votruba. She married Richard L. "Abe" Lichty on June 8, 1947, in Marshalltown. He died May 27, 1986.

Mrs. Lichty graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1940. She worked at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works as a expediter in the production department for 31 years, retiring in 1982 Survived by: three grandsons, Dan (Alexandria) Lichty of Waterloo, Terry Lichty of Kentucky and Tyson Lichty of Ankeny; five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Doris Votruba of Clem-mons and special friend and caregiver, Brian Soli of Waterloo. According to the patrol, Jeffrey Blazek was attempting to turn onto Second Street from Kennedy Street, but he was apparently traveling too fast. The Harley Davidson motorcycle slipped on some gravel and crashed, according the patrol. Jeffrey Blazek was charged with failure to maintain control. LAM0NT Three people were injured in two separate accidents in Buchanan County this week. Crystal Baumgartner, 33, of Strawberry Point, was injured in a two-vehicle accident near Lamont Monday morning.

Baumgartner was taken to Regional Medical Center in Manchester. A condition report was not immediately available. The accident occurred a half-mile north of Lamont on Highway 187 at 8:30 a.m. According to the Iowa State Patrol, her vehicle was southbound on Highway 187 when she slowed to turn right into a private drive. A pickup truck driven by Babet M.
