Friday afternoon visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wyatt of Berry yille. Congratulations to the 102 Madison County residents who took part in the 3rd annual Community Health Check at the Huntsville Clinic A special congratulations to Anna Hunt who won a $50 savings bond from First State Bank of Huntsville. October 15 18 at the Nearly 70 AHTD employees from all 10 districts competed in the TractorLowboy, Tandem Axle -Dump Truck, Single Axle Dump Truck, TractorMower, Backhoe, and Motor Patrol events. The events tested their skill and dexterity with obstacle courses and other challenges. "The department's equipment operators work hard to keep our highways safe and in good condition," said Highway Commission Chairman L.W. "Bill" Clark. "Roadeo is a way of showing appreciation for a job well done." "'RroadetHser njoyabl-fF everyone, but it has a serious purpose," said AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

"Roadeo events test real skills that these employees use every day." Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department employee Kenny Riley of Kingston won first place in the Backhoe event and third place in Motor Patrol event Sept. 20 at the 1995 Equipment Operators' Roadeo, held at the AHTD Central Shops in Little Rock. Riley, a backhoefront end loader operator with the Madison County Area Maintenance Crew, traveled to the statewide Roadeo alter taking first place in his events at the District 9 Semi-Final Roadeo at Harrison. This is his third con- Backhoe event. Joey Fierro of Kingston, a single axle truck driver with the Madison County Area, Maintenance Crew, competed in Tandem Axle Dump Truck.

Forum Church of Christ lOjyyiSunday October 15 This first day of October was a beautiful one. We attended decoration at the Carpenter Cemetery and at Eagle Gap Cemetery. Others from this community who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bennett, Mr.

and Mrs. Boyd Lyman, Mr. and MrsBug Eaton, Norman and Bernie Samuels, and Hurshel Johnson. Our singing Saturday night was well attended. Visitors were Keith and Katherin Easterling of Aurora, Jean Kilpatrick of Hunlsville, Mrs.

Golda Brandenburg and Jonie Henderson and family of Witter. We were happy to have these people, as well as all who attended. Specials were performed by Otto Bryant, Maxine Forster and a quartet made up of Ewell Parson, Dale and Fonda Callaway, and Otto Bryant and his guitar. Oleta Johnson and I did a couple. Otto accompanied all on his guitar.

We missed Loyd (Putts) Keck and his guitar; maybe next time. The Easterlings and Jean Kilpatrick visited before the singing with us. Saturday night visitors of Earl Whirley were Floyd Dain of Nob Hill, Flonie Masner of Rogers, and Martha AnnGoodall of Springdale. Earl said they played agood game of42. Thursday supper guests of Mr.

and Mrs. Hurshel Johnson were Mr. and Mrs. Press Thomas of Witter. The Johnsons had Friday supper with Mr.

and Mrs. Glen Thomas, Brandon and Kris of Sonora. They visited Wednesday night with Elder and Mrs.Layton Porter in the Venus community. Mr. and Mrs.

Otto Bennett enjoyed Wednesday supper with Mr. and Mrs. Ras Gray in Pettigrew. They had Saturday dinner with her mother, Mrs. Ruby Johnson, in New Home community.

A Friday visitor of the Bennetts was Jim Bennett. Saturday evening visitors were Mrs. Fern Thornberry and Chad. Sunday dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs.

Charles Thornberry, Christy, Katie and Chad, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bennett, and Mrs. Ruby Johhson. Sunday visitors and dinner guests of Mr.

and Mrs. Earl Johnson were Mrs. Stacey Johnson, Sean, Heather, William, Karen and Deidre of St. Paul. Mr.

and Mrs. Bug Eaton and Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Samuels enjoyed a bluegrass festival Saturday at Lake Hinkle. Saturday afternoon visitors and supper guests of Mr.

and Mrs. Arvel Edwards were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Watkins of Springdale. A weekend visitor was Harold McCoy of Springdale.

The Edwards visited Sunday of last week with Mrs. Helen Ficht of Kingston. A visitor of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bennett from Monday evening until Thursday morning was Mrs.

Lenette Taylor of Rogers. Wednesday night visitors were Frank, Collins and Wilma Carney of Elkins. A Saturday visitor and dinner guest was Jeremy Bryant of Fayetteville. Patricia Maggard was a Monday overnight visitor of Mrs. Ruby Myers of Venus community.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Bryant and Laura visited Saturday afternoon and had supper with Mr. and Mrs. Chance Bryant and Brianna of Elm Springs.

Janice Jordan and Scolty visited Thursday with Mrs. Ruby Johnson in New Home community. Janice visited with Mrs. Irene Eaton of St. Paul.

A Friday overnight visitor of the Jordans was Brandon Harp. Monday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Thornberry were Mrs. Janice Jordan, Mrs.

Charlotte Haire and Kendall. Mrs. Thornberry visited Mrs. Shirley Jacksrift Of Aurora. Tuesday she visited in Mcadowview Lodge with J.D.

Johnson and other relatives and friends. A Thursday dinner guest of the Thomberrys was Coy Collins. Friday supper guests were Mr. and. Mrs.

Charles Thornberry, Christy, Katie and Chad, Jeff Haire, Courtney and Kendall. Other visitors were Mrs. Terry Johnson and Kaylea. Mrs. Thornberry and Chad visited Mrs.

Ruby Johnson. She and Doug visited Sunday in Goshen with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hawkins. We visited Tuesday night with Mrs.

Ethel Williams and Craig and enjoyed a bowl of chili with them that Craig had made. It sure was gtxxl. Thanks for inviting us. Mr. Jamie Boyd of Goshen visited at the gate Saturday with us.

Mrs. Linda Bennett bad Monday dinner with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Allison. Rocky Martin of Pettigrew was a Friday1 overnight and Saturday dinner guest of the Bennetts.
