Hostesses for the delicious cooperative meal at 1:30 were Mrs.

Overton (the former Ora Shipley) and a daughter, Grace Thiele of California, Those in attendance were Rev. and Mrs. A. C. Davis, Chloe Ann Dovie Knight, Griff Wilson, Carol and Preston Woodruff, Treg, Fred and Lynn, Loretta H.

Cornwell, Dennis and Betty Spears, Lilla and Paul Giles, Kathy D. Woodruff, Don Davis, Floyd Callico, Kit and Jack Steele, John and Linda Steele, Stan Sisemore, Bonnie Agnew, Sid and Donna Ward, Maude Coffin, Roger A. Davis, Ruth Ann Crawford, Sylvia Elzey, Lora Callico, Clint and Richard Lola Bayles, Debra Spears, and Wynema Callico, Nancy and Kim, Leo and Floy, Lee Sisemore, Ruby and Melton Newman, Jerry Newman, Elaine Callico, Joyce and Art Callico and Sam Spears, "Blackie" received phone calls throughout the day from friends and relatives unable to attend the celebration. Miss Gaskill Shower Honoree Miss Trudy Laura Gaskill, whose marriage to Gary Michael Karnes will be an event of June 10, was honored on Friday evening, May 26, with a miscellaneous wedding shower at the home of Mrs. Jack Warren in East Heights addition from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

The bride-elect was seated at a round table in the den of the Warren home to open her gifts. Assisting her were Miss Judy Karnes, the prospective bridegroom's sister, and Mrs. Joe C. Shrum. Shrum were also presented corsages identical to the one worn by the honored guest. Hostesses assisting Mrs. Warren were Mrs. James Hargis, Mrs. Tillman Bennett, Mrs.

Cuthbert Elzey, Mrs. Nathen Gaskill, Glyndon Johnson and Mrs. James L. Spurlock. The hostesses' gift to Miss Gaskill was a place setting of her chosen china.

Friendship Club Met With Mrs. Hargis The Friendship Club met at the home of Mrs. James (Pat) Hargis Thursday, May 18, at 7:30 with Mrs. Bill (Betty) Gaskill as cohostess. Twenty one members answered roll call.

Mrs. Phil (Beverly) Phillips a former member of the club, now of Siloam Springs, was a guest. Another guest was Phil Phillips, Sr. of Springdale who spoke to the group before the regular business meeting was called to order by Mrs. Johnny (Jayne) McCoy.

Mrs. Cuthbert read the minutes of the April meeting and Mrs. Junior Cline, club treasurer, read the financial report. The club's project for the year was discussed and a decision was made to wait until need presents itself. further the year when Mrs.

Jeff Parrott reported to the group on the club's committee attending the school board meeting in April in behalf of a kindergarten for the school system here. The Madison County Fair and our participation in it was discussed and a Fair float committee appointed by the president, Mrs. McCoy. The committee is as follows: Mrs. Junior Cline, Mrs.

Jeff Parrott, Mrs. Jack Warren, Mrs. Kay Coger and Mrs. Danny Bolinger. Our next meeting will be a picnic for the members and their families at Withrow Spring State Park at 6:30, Sunday, June 18.

25 Years Ago (May 29, 1947) Miss Barbara Lee Jones of Clifty and Arlis Shipp of Huntsville were married at the home of the officiating minister, the Rev. Cecil Garrison, at 10:30 p.m. May 28. Miss Yvonne Mason, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Phil Mason of Hindsville, and Loy Watson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Watson of Wesley, were united in marriage Friday, May 23, at the home of the Rev. Sheridan Johnson who read the vows. Huntsville expects to have "one of its bigger days" in some time, when the farmers and businessmen of the county turn out June 3 to welcome the latest addition to Huntsville and Madison County's growing list business enterprises, Mower Motor Company.

15 Years Ago (May 30, 1957) Arlis Harriman, formerly employed by Easterling Maytag and Appliance Co. of Huntsville, has been appointed rural mail carrier for Route 2, Huntsville, according to an announcement made this week by Leland Lewis, postmaster. A 1952 Chevrolet belonging to C. L. Craig washed from Sam Barker crossing to the old canning factory in Kingston Wednesday night of last week.

The car was completely demolished. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Dillahunty and Mrs. Amo Davis of Wichita, Kansas are visiting the ladies' father, Grover Harris, and Mr.
