Last summer when a ruling that all new students at the college must eat in the Commons for three quarters w'as first announced, the two men's dormitories, Baker and Seerley hall, sponsored a joint protest committee. This week the results of the polling on the Commons' food question revealed that the Commons' customers were satisfied not only with the quality, quantity and dietary variety of the food served, but that they also preferred paying for their meals by the quarter.

The survey was reported by the College Eye, student newspaper. "Do you believe the food is prepared satisfactorily? Do you believe there is sufficient variety in the diet? Do you believe you are getting your money's worth''" were sample questions to which 95 per cent of the students answered "yes" and only 5 per cent "no." Carefully planned after the famous Gallup methods, the poll took en entire month to complete. From figures obtained by interviewing the cross-sections SCO (Student Campus Opinion) estimated that 43 per cent of Teachers college students rr.t at the Commons. Following the poll, an actual cheek with the Commons revealed that 41 per cent of the student body ate there. SCO's "margin of error'' was only one per cent.
