F. on tbe seventh of January, 1853, the day after its organization. The live degrees of the Order were conferred upon him be tween that date and the eighteenth of May tbe cam year. Oa the tenth of January, 1853, he wa appointed Conductor of the Lodge aad serving out th term wa reappointed to tbe same office for th succeeding term. He served ia various appointive offices until tbe commencement of the second aemi-eanual term of 1833, when be wu elected and in-atalled secretary of tb Lodge.

On tbe seventeenth of January, 1833, Johnson Encampment No. 5 wu instituted under a charter granted by the R. W. Grand Lodge of the United States, Bro. S.

O. Hsynie being one of the charter members. The first term of 1854 he served V. G. and the second as N.

G. becoming a Put Grand at th installation of hi successor iu January, 1835. On thi occasion, Bra. Haynie wu distinguished by being the first recipient of the thank of the Lodge by its vols for the able snd impartial manner in which he bad presided over the Lodge during hi term. Paat Grand Hsvnie served a second term secretary from July to December, 1857, aad again as V.

On the tweaty-fifth of April, 1839, Past Grand Haynie with Pact Grands Millett and Freeman, of Milam Lodge, received the Paat Official and Grand Lodge Degree at the town of La Grange wbitber tbey bad gone to participate ia tbe celebration of the Fortieth Anniversary of the Order. Oa tbe same day he had conferred upon him tb Graad Encampment Degree aad served, in tbe absence of the regularly elected officer, Grand Senior Warden of tbe Grand Encampment st tbe celebration.
