A 50-foot antenna atop the house was knocked down by the winds and the roof received some damage. A shed was destroyed and a bam and granary were also damaged. The top of a silo was also reported to have been blown off by the winds. The heavy rains accompanying the storms of the past few days have created some worry among farmers.

Approximately 5 to 7 Inches have been reported in parts of Mitchell County and farmers fear the erosion damage may be high. In Howard County, flooding was reported at Lidtky Park near Lime Springs and campers were moved out of the park as a precaution. The Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants Program will receive an additional 15,099, which will assist nine students. This is the first year supplemental funds have been approved for the institution. The action is in addition to previous funding for the 1979-80 period in the amount of approximately $120,000 in CWS funds and $97,000 in SEDG funds. Through the College Work-Study Program, the Federal government provides 80 percent of the student payrolls, with the institution or off-campus agency providing 20 percent. Wartburg is one of 24 Iowa Colleges or universities granted these awards.

Gas firm asks change in policies GRUNDY CENTER Peoples Natural Gas Company has filed a request with the Iowa State Commerce Commission for authority to revise its new customer connection and main and service line extension policies. Under the proposed new policy, the firm will provide new customers with 100 feet of service line at no charge with a charge beyond that amount of $3 per foot. The current policy provides for 75 feet of service line at no charge with a charge in excess of that amount of $2 per foot. Under the company's present main extension policy, Peoples provides new firm customers with up to 50 feet of main at company expense with any excess charged to the customer at $3 per foot. The company proposes to provide main extensions beyond 50 feet at company expense "where economic feasibility justifies.
