An attorney from the head office of the company at Cleveland conferred with members of the committee last week and on Monday sent word here that the mining company officials were in favor of the plan of incorporation.

An exceptionally daring robbery was perpetrated here on Friday morning of last week whten the jewelry store of J. F. Sullivan was entered and robbed of jewelry and valuables to the amount of about $500. The robbery occurred between 2 and 2:30 o'clock in the morning it is believed, and the robbers gained an entrance to the building by cutting the plate glass in the front door with a diamond or glass cutter and then breaking off enough of the glass to allow an entrance. The job looks like the work of professionals and it is thought that at least tbree were implicated in it, two men being stationed on the outside to give warning should anyone approach, while the other was ransacking the store.

The two show cases nearest the door on the jewelry side were stripped of everything they contained, which included a large number of rings, fancy stick pins, lavaliers, watches, several opera glasses and other expensive jewelry? a number of valuable rings were also taken from the display in the window. The robbery was not discovered until 7 o.clock and the robbers had ample time to make their getaway. Two strangers named Wm. Woods and Max Sternberg, who had been around here several days previous to the robbery, were thought td be connected with the crime and were arrested at Superior on Saturday and Sheriff Menestrena went to Superior Sunday morning and returned with the two men that evening. Qn Monday morning they were given a severe grilling by District Attorney Reid and Chief Collins, but were able.

to prove conclusively that were not implicated in the robbery and they were ordered released and returned to Superior Monday afternoon. uj south bound Northwestern passenger trains were about six hours late in getting into Hurley.
