LEVIN Move West A Big One For Levin The executive vice president of National General Corporation is a native Chicagoan who went west to make his mark in the motion picture industry. Irving H.

Levin for the past 17 years has been' active in executive capacities in exhibition, distribution and production phases of the motion picture industry. He and his wife, Lenore, and their three children live in Beverly Hills, Calif. Following his World War II military service, Levin lived in Detroit, where until 1948 he was vice president and general manager of the Levin Glove Manufacturing Company. In 1948, he became associated with Charles Kranz, operator of an independent film exchange, and organized Kranz-Levin Pictures and Realart Pictures of California, Inc. Young and Ida Lupino to form Filmakers Productions, Inc. and Filmakers Releasing Organization in 1953 to produce and distribute motion pictures worldwide. As president of these two operations, Levin organized throughout the United States and Canada to merchandise the films produced by Filmakers. He established the unique "Exhibitor Guarantee" plan in 1954 by which ten highly successful medium-b pictures were produced and distributed.

In 1956, Leonard H. Goldenson, i nt of American Broadcasting Paramount Theatres, I asked Levin to join his company as head of their theatrical production and distribution subsidiaries. Levin served as president of AB-PT Pictures Corp. and AB-PT Distributing Company, Inc. from 1956 through 1959 at which time he purchased total stock of these corporations.

In the sale, he acquired all the films, their residual values and eight literary properties.
