But et's enjoy a arlatlon on that 'leasant theme and make an eggnog pie — creamy, lovely to look t and flecked with nutmeg. Effffnoff Pie (Yield: 6 servinga) One envelope unfavored gelatin, ft cup cold water, 3 eggs, separ- ted; '/, teaspoon salt. 2-3 cup sug- r, '/ 2 cup milk, 1 cup heavy ream, 1 teaspoon pure vanilla ex- ract, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 9-inch aked pastry shell. 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg, holly leaves for [arnish. Soften gelatin in cold water. Beat igg yolks in top of double boiler. Add salt and 1-3 cup of sugar. Stir n milk. Cook over hot water until he mixture coats a metal spoon, itirring frequently. Here's another recipe for Christmas: Cherry Butter Cookie* (Makes ~ to 3 dozen) One cup softened butter or margarine, ! /4 cup sugar, 2 eggs, 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour, 14 teaspoon pure vanilla, 1 cup finely chopped walnuts, '/a cup chopped marashino cherries, drained (about 20 cherries). Cream butter or margarine with sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and mix well. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Chill thoroughly. Roll out on lightly, floured surface to "4-inch thickness. Cut with floured cookie cutter. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake in moderate oven 350 degree:; "P.) 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Frost and garnish with addilonal mtaraschino cherries, as desired.
