Courier Xpcrml Hrmrrt Iowa Falls. upturn In employment Is in More for Hardin county with plans already made lor three early spring work projects, and with a fourth under consideration. The three projects will approach in cost nearly $50,000, and employment will be provided for about 120 men it is estimated.

A aewage-disposal Plant contract with Spencer. Contracting company of Waterloo is now under way at Ackley, as a PWA project. Preliminary work in digging a well is in process to provide water for later construction work. The plant will be located one-hall mile southeast of Ackley and will supplant an older type, now in operation. The new plant will dispose of sewage by mechanical process.

The project will provide employment lor about" 60 days. Widen Iowa Falls Highway. The second larger project will be the widening and tepavlng of highways 65 and 20 (which use the same streets) thru Iowa Falls, which will give employment to SO to 75. The work will be In charge of Anderson Empie, Marshalltown, under supervision of the state highway commission. The commission offices at Ames have ordered work to begin as soon as weather conditions permit, which it Is believed will be about, April 1.

The decision to Increase the width irom 24 to 30 feet on a six block stretch, north from the highway intersection with Rocksylvania avenue to the city limits, was made by the commission a year ago as a survey showed a heavy traffic congestion. The project will require about two months to complete. Welden Iowa Falls, who will build a E0 foot triple I-beam bridge at steamboat Rock ako expect to begin the project in early April. Actual work has been delayed for some time because of weather conditions. The new bridge will be a state highway project on the Eldora Pine Lake-Ackley road.

Hospital Is Proposed. Preliminary steps are being taken to provide Iowa Falls with another hospital. It being the general concensus of opinion that the present one Is inadequate, both in size and convenience. A committee of Interested persons, representing the city and civic organizations, has conferred with Representative E. O.

Ellsworth of Hardin, seeking methods by which a bill may be passed DV the lowa legislature in order to receive state aid. Mr. Ellsworth approved the plan, and is making arrangements for introducing effective legislation. Two methods remain by which the hospital could be constructed and equipped, In the event that state aid could not be received. The first plan would Involve financing from city funds, but as the present status would only allow a $30,000 expenditure this year, it is felt this would be Insufficient.

Another method would be public iihwrirtion to a hospital building fund. A study will also be made to combine the latter two plans and possibilities brought out whereby sufficient money would be raised to begin the project, and the final completion dependent upon a "unit" plan of construction. erf eld Funeral Held on Monday Courier Special Senieei Greene, la.
