Participating artists will perform songs they have written, and will donate the proceeds from the songs' copyrights in perpetuity to the United Nations Children's Fund.

Two new songs will receive their premiere performances on the show: "Fallen Angels" by Rita Coolidge and Kris Kristofferson; and "The Key," by Olivia Newton John. Other performers include Abba, the Bee Gees, John Denver, Earth, Wind and Fire, Andy Gibb, Rod Stewart, Donna Summer and Elton John. David Frost is the host, with Henry Fonda, Henry Winkler and Gilda Radner as additional guests. The concert was taped last night at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. from gold, and a look at international gold smuggling which often begins in the tiny Middle East of Dubai.

There have been reports of rifts between members of the Follies' creative team, and at least one member said another group, similar to "Esther's Follies," may be formed under a different name.

When performances resume, shows will be presented at 8 and 11p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The Sunday show has been dropped. There will be a free show every other Thursday, at the beginning of the two-week run, for each edition of the Follies. Admission will be charged for other shows.
