He also was a charter member of the city's union. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Earl N.J. of Campo, Dennis of 3033 E. Shrock Road, Darwin of Santa Anna, and Thomas of 1135 W. Eighth three daughters, Connie Hardee of Shell Rock, Pat Dahlco of Independence and Karen Fischels of 1111 Mitchell two brothers, Milton of Pocahontas and Kermit of Valparaiso, 29 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren; he was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel and Donald; and five sisters, Ebon, Florence, Rose, Inez and Hazel.

Canfield Road, who died of cancer Friday (May 28) at Convenant Medical Center at Kimball Avenue, Waterloo, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church with burial in the Fairview Cemetery. He was born Jan 12, 1902, in La-mont, son of Charles and Helen Sheffield Flaucher. He married Mildred Breeden Jan. 28, 1925, in Manchester.

They were divorced in 1937. He was employed as a painter for the Waterloo Park Commission for 14 years and before that was a self-employed barber. He served in U.S. Navy during World War I and II. Survivors include two daughters, Lois McGarvey and Ann Newsom, both of Dunkerton; a sister, Dolores Campbell of Singer Island, 12 grandchilren; and 23 great-grandchildren; he was preceded in death by four brothers, Carl, Amos, Paul and Dick; two sisters, Helen Schaf-fer and Norine Burnsed; one granddaughter and one great-grandson.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Parker Funeral Chapel, Jesup. Memorials may be sent to the Cedar Valley Hospice in Waterloo. Earl Anderson Fonda, son of John and Emma Erickson Anderson.

They lived in Waterloo from 1949 to 1975. She was a tailor and seamstress at Milroy's for seven years and Blacks Department Store for 10 years before (retiring to Alabama in 197S. Survivors include her husband of gRA Box 1, Eclectic, Ala. 36024; a Si, Russel of Montgomery; two ughters, Alene Heaton of Jacksonville, and Janice Tomlinson of Navato, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Forest Lake of Jolley and Jacob Lake of Fonda; and five sisters, Bertha Maddy of NeweU, Nova Mien of Rockwell City, Ruby Copper of Lucas, Letha Gifford of Warren, Ohio, and Nira Alexander of Cedar Falls. Monday at The Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Mrs. Conway died Saturday (May M) at Ravenwood Health Care Center of an undisclosed cause. She was born Sept. 22, 1910, in Black Hawk County, daughter of John and Nellie Prothero Rice.

She married Theodore G. Conway Jan. 15, 1943, in Waterloo. He preceded her in death. She worked at Superior Welding Co.

for 14 years, retiring in 1975. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Dortha Bellows of San Diego; and several nieces and nephews; preceded in death by a brother, Elmer, and three sisters, Elma Westcott, Faye Lampe and Marie Stahle. Ulmer CEDAR FALLS Services for Donald A. Ulmer, 76, of 1123 W. 20th will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Nazareth Lutheran Church with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Mr.

Ulmer died Friday afternoon (May 29) at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, of a stroke following surgery. He was born Feb. 6, 1911, in Marshall town, son of Harry De and Lida Hollingsworth Ulmer. He married Alta Skeie July 7, 1935, in Salt Lake City. He worked in the engineering department at Clay Equipment Co.

for 21 years retiring in 1974. After that he worked as a part-time employee at the State Liquor Store in Cedar Falls. He is survived by his wife; a son, Kent of Clarkridge, Ark. a daughter, Mrs. Karen Bernard of Cedar Falls; and a grandson; he was preceded in death by a sister, Garnet Norris.
