Leach, of South Troy, VL, which has elicited so much comment and curiosity In tbe northwestern part of the State. Tbe machine was the result ot some five of labor and experiment on tbe part of itt inventor, and is, without any humbug a perpetual motion, ae- tingby tbe force of gravity alone. As nearly as we are able to describe it with our lim ited mechanical knowledge, it is a perpendic ular wheel, revolving ou an axis and carrying on its edge a number ot bent arms, attached at their angles to tbe rim ot the large wheel by pivots and loaded at their ends with metallic balls. These loaded elDows fall outward on tbe descending side of the wheel, thereby making that side tbe heavier. On tbe ascending side they fall inward, producing tbe con trary effect Tbe machine starts of itself and will run till it wsars out, or "something It is quite a curiosity from the simplicity of its idea and its effectiveness.

It is difficult to see why a wheel of large enough size could not be used for some practical pur pose. Messrs. D. A. Wilson and C.

S. Kinsley, of Cambridge are agents for tbe sale of rights to exhibit tbe machine, and we understand that one is shortly to be on exhibition in this town. Wounded. Tbe only casualties in the Ver mont Cavalry during Kilpatrick's raid were two men wounded John H. Burnett and Benjamin Sheldon.
