He said that this would satisfy the desire of the Chamber of Commerce to find out the wishes of the people. It was, recommended by Mr. Olds that a "lease or "rent-credit" plan be considered for the Highland line whereby the use of the sewer line be granted the sewer district exchange for maintenance and the cancellation of the annual sewage charges to the school.

It was moved and carried that the proposal as outlined in a letter by Mr. Olds be submitted to the Board of Managers for consideration. FALLOUT SHELTERS DISCUSSED C. J. Klumpp of the New York Telephone Co.

and Lee V. Murphy, Town of Evans Civil Defense Director, were present at the invitation of the school board for cl arlfication in the matter of fallout shelters. Mr. Murphy commented that he had been in contact with Civil Defense headquarters personnel who advised to proceed slowly with this problem. He added that there is a possibility that federal aid for' total re-imbursement of costs may be forthcoming, where limited state aid is now Mr.

Klumpp stated that he agreed with Mr. Murphy that plans should be made cautiously, emphasizing that there was need for community shelters which could be integrated into school buildings. He pointed out that survey teams are now examining shelter sites in 50 states and that money has been requested of the federal government to provide for construction of community shelters.
