for forty years a teacher in the St. Charles public school. is dead at her home. aged 73 years. Miss Hazeltine bad been gen: erally credited with being the oldest teacher in point of service An Illinois.

She was born in St. Charles, and never taught anywhere else. Her first school was in a log cabia. SAMUEL M. DOWST.

58 years old. manager of the National Laundry Journal. 112 Ann street. died at his home. 7023 Yale avenue, ycsterday.

He had been connected with the publication since its foundattort thirty-eight years ago. A son, Theodore and a daughter. 3Irs. K. C.

Foster, survive him. MRS. HENRIETTA HESS. who died Sunday morning at 6218 Rnodes avenue Is to be tried today at Mount Mayriv cemetery at Jefferson. The funeral witi take place at 9 :30 o'clock this morning in the chapel at Thirty-fifth street and Grand boulevard.

Mrs. Hess Was 79 years old. She was born in Bavaria a came to this country when a child. One of her early recollections was that oZ attending school at the northeast corner of Dearborn and Madison streets. She is survived by three sons, Sol Simon and Roy Hess.
