To be kept in mind, however. is the fact that It pays to select fixtures of as good a quality as can be afforded; also to choose these fixtures with a --view to style, design, and color. Plumbing fixtures no longer are bought for their utilitarian value alone.

Their decorative assets loom large and the elements of grace and beauty in bath tubs. lavatories. tubs. showers, and medicine cabinets give possibilities of real individuality to bathrooms undreamed of a decade ago. Choice of Many.

For Instance in the selection of a lavatory one has choice of some thirty or forty different kinds. ranging from the least expensive, the hangirg from the wall type. to costly creations cut from gold and black Italian marble. The house with two baths and a downstairs lavatory and basement toilet and shoer has a better resale value and rentin alue than a hosise with only one bath. So our stanslatits Increase and our de multiply with the years.

Often home owners hesitate to consider adding another bath to their home because they think It should bw a sizable effair and they do not see how they can spare the room space. This decidedly Is not so since the three essential bathroom fixtures ran iv grouped In a room 6 feet la) 6 feet. Oct. 1, which told of the enlargement of the Marshall Field Co. Lake Forest branch: I call your attention to what might be considered as an inaccuracy in your first sentence namely: Marshall Field pioneer amang the loop department stores in the opening of suburban branches? While The Hub, Henry C. Lytton Sons, is not. strictly speaking; a department store, it is, nevertheless, a loop store of some forty-four years' standing.

and I believe that The Hub was the first of the loop stores to open suburban branches. The Evanston branch was opened March 8. 1926; the Gary store was opened March 5, 1927. and the Oak Park store was opened Oct. 12, 1927.

Naturally. leases for these properties were made several months prior to the formal opening. In fact, the Oak Park store was built for The Hub by Mr. Nicholas of Oak Park." We don't wish to start an argument between Marshall Field Co. and The Hub, but we must add in fairness to THE TRIBUNE that Field in making their announcement, referred' to themselves as pioneers in the suburban area and we merely quoted them as such.
