His skull was fractured, and he was taken to the Kenosha hospital. One of his companions was killed, and two others hurt. The man killed was Charles Ferguson of Kenosha.

Franklin, Ferguson and the two other men, Albert Borkenhagen and Grover Wallace, both of Kenosha were returning home from Lake Geneva in Ferguson's car when the machine skidded on some loose gravel on the Fox river overhead. Franklin's home is in Plainfield. Ind. Three automobile deaths in Cook county raised the motor toll for the year to 650. The victims: Louis Peterson, 22 years old, 2322 North Karlov avenue.

Died in St. Anne's hospital of injuries incurred on Friday night when his car collided with an automobile driven by Mrs. Molly Horseman, 5230 Melrose street. at Fullerton and Laramie avenues. Emil Roder, 65 years old, 5328 Waveland avenue.

Died in the Belmont hospital of Injuries incurred on Wednesday when he stepped In front of an automobile at hiving Park boulevard and Lavergne avenue. Wilbur Sarby, 28 years old, 4515 North Mason avenue, the driver, was nut held. Raymond Kerwin, 6 years old, 1642 Byron street. Died early today in Martha Washington hospital of Injuries received on Aug. 14, when he was struck by a truck in front of 3537 Lincoln avenue.

Boyd, state treasurer; Ronald Pinney, 34, bond broker, and his former employe, Leland Caldwell, in connection with the Kansas municipal bond fort ery scandal. The defendants pleaded not guilty itt their arraignment and were committed to jail in default of bail bond. Bond for Boyd and Finney was fixed at $50,000 each. and Caldwell's at 000. Preliminary hearing for all three was set for Sept.

ITALY ARRESTS 1 FLYING OFFICER IN SPY SCANDAL nomE Aug. Italian 'aviation captain stationed in llome was reported today to have been arrested In connection with an espionage organization. Two women, whose names were not revealed. also were arrested. The authorities are silent. but In reliable circles it Is believed that a apecial tribunal will push Indictment and trial on the basis of large quanvities of documents which have been Bianchi Is reported to have admitted various charges in connection with the alleged plot. San Diego. Cat, Aug. Virginia Wilson, 06. widely known here in the realm of psychology and psychiatry. who ran amuck last night with a butcher knife, killing one woman and seriously injuring another, faced questioning today by police detectives.

Dr. Anita Bluhl, surgeon, In whose palatial home the attack took place, was stabbed and seriously wounded. her condition today was reported improved. Miss Ann 'Wife, 50. the housekeeper at Dr.

Muhrs residence and the first attacked by Dr. Wilson, died almost Instantly from a knife thrust in the back. Police learned that Dr. Wilson had prepared to retire for the night when she suddenly started the knife attack. She was found half an hour later sitting on the front steps of a home a few blocks from the Muhl residence.

She was taken to the city jail and later removed to the psychopathic ward of the county hospital. Dr. Wilson, a graduate of Washington university in St. Louis, In MS, was born In Utica, N. where her father is a prominent business man.

Dr. Wilson practiced general medicine In Utica and conducted a private school, later moving to California. She suffered a nervous breakdown at Berkeley, and came to San Diego Aug. 6 to be placed under the care of Dr. Muhl.

Caspera, an expert on diseases of the eye and a practicing physician in Chicago for :8 years, died late Friday evening. He was 65 years old, and is survived by his widow. Mrs. Jennie Caspers, a daughter, Bertha, and a. son, Paul Jr.

Dr. Caspers was born In Germany. He received his education in the United States, graduating from New York university in 1693 and served his internship in Bellevue hospital in New York City. He was a member of the Chicago Medical society, the American Medical association and the Chicago Ophthalmological society. SOVIET MURDERS ARE PROTESTED BY MANCHUKUO IISINKING, Manchukuo, Aug.

28. Manchukuo government formally protested to the Russian consul-general here today against merous soviet outrages on the frontier during the last year. Twenty-two Manchukuans and four white Russians were listed in the protest as having been murdered. Kidnapings, looting, and burning of villages and other disorders were charged.
