Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Jeanne Felt, whom be married a year ago in Paris, and four daughters by his first wife, Mrs. Agnea Felt, who died two years ago. His daughters are Mrs. Virginia F.

Koch, 1110 Pine street, Winnetka; Miss Elizabeth Felt of the home address, Mrs. Constance Felt Tippens, Wyoming, and Mrs. Dorottsa Felt Noyes, 70 East Cedar street. Mr. Felt invented the first key calculating machine and the first practical adding and listing machines, His first model of a comptometer he made in 1882, two years after he came to Chicago from Beloit, Win.

He was art apprentice in a machine shop when he was 14 years old. He perfected the comptometer in 1887. The manufacturing company which he headed until his death was organized the same year. He served as regional advisor for one section of the war industrial board in 1918 and was a member of the employers' commission appointed by Secretary of Labor Wilson in 1919, going to England to study labor conditions. He was a former director of ths United States Chamber of Commerce and a member of Union league and Chicago Athletic association.

Mr. Lipman said, "I consider this a most gratifying record, considering general business conditions that have prevailed during this period. Despite this reduction in sales, earnings for this period will show a slight increase, due to many operating economies which have been in effect since the beginning of the year." Contracts have been let by Architect David Saul Mater for the reconstruction of the Oak theater at the northwest corner of Western and Armitage avenues, at a reported cost of 8150,000.

Work has just started. The improvement will include a pew front Of modernistic design, with Spanish motif. The interior will be altered and redecorated to conform to the new design. The balcony is to be entirely rebuilt and a new mezzanine floor Installed with new marble stairways. The building is owned by the Oak Theater Building corporation.

It is expected to have the playhouse ready for fall opening. Hotel Changes Hands. Eugene Gehm yesterday took title to the Lincoln Park Manor apartment hote at 500-508 Fullerton parkway by master in chancery deed, from the Lincoln Park Manor Building corporation. The five story, fireproof building contains sixty apartments of one, two and three room suites. The property fronts 96 feet on Fullerton parkway with an irregular depth.

The hotel building Is one of a group erected about seven years ago. It was acquired by Mr. Gehm subject to an incumbrance of 8165.000. It will be operated by him. E.

J. Gehm Son handled the transaction. Walton Place Lease. Mabel Thorne, formerly in charge of antiques at Mandel Bros. department store, has leased the two story building at 103 East Walton place, near Michigan avenue, from Clarence J.

Carey, and will use the premises for the sale and display of antiques and interior decorations. The Bowes Realty company negotiated the transaction. The Beatrice apartments, a six story building, containing thirty-seven furnished suites, on a lot 50x125, at 2358 East 70th street, was bought by Julius Kahn and others, who purchased the stock Of the Beatrice Building corporation at a reported price of 8226,000, subject to $137,000.
