Scouts Headed For State The Gallup MM Independent-MotxJoy, May 2, 1977-Poge 5 WINDOW ROCK (SUif) Mike Kellogg and Gilbert Clans- chee womd up the Window Rock Scout baseball regular season on Friday and Saturday with wins (or their team. The Scouts took a S-5 decision over Page on Saturday and won a 9-5 meeting over Many Farms on Friday to put the Scouts' final season mark at overall, and it gave them a perfect 104 record in conference play. The Scouts, who will be heading for Mesa, Arizona next Friday (or the first round of the state playoffs, played neither poorly or great in their last two games according to Coach Don Rezac of Window-Rock. "Ithinkthekidswereguiliyof looking ahead to next week, said Rezac. He said that the defense probably suffered the biggest letdown.

By beating Page on Saturday, the Scouts caused Page a lot of trouble. In Arizona, a win or loss for the Scouts hase no effect on their conference record, while a win or loss is registered on Page's conference mark. The loss forced Page into a two-way tie with Parker, and now the two teams will have to play Tuesday to determine the runnerupof (hat conference. The winner of the Parker-Page matchup will determine Window Rock's first round opponent at state on Friday. Coach Rezac is figuring that their opponentswill probably be Page.

Mike Kellogg picked up his seventh win of the year against Page on Saturday. Kellogg gave up seven hits and collected ten strikeouts on his way to a perfect 7-0 record as a pitcher this year, Kellogg also led the way for his team at the plate in the game. Mike went two for four and knocked in three RBl's. Perry Begay and Gerald Slinky both had two for three performances to help in the Scout hitting attack. Window Rocks 9-5 win over Many Farmson Friday gave the Scouts a per feet 10-0 mark tor conference thi yea r.

The Scouts had already been assured of a stale playoff berth weeks ago, but they were still after a perfect conference mark, and they got it. Gilbert Clauschee only gave up five hits, while a few Scout errorshelpedgiveManyFarmsmostoflheirruns.ThcScouts had 11 hits in that Clauschefi's record went to 3-1 with Hie win.
