5 -r 7,1. ti 1 3 2 I July 28,1964 Jack Palmatier Named Bay Disaster Radio Coordinator PARADE WILL OPEN FIRE DRILL TOWER Jack Palmatier, president of the Oakland Radio Club, has been appointed emergency coordinator of the American Radio Relay League's amateur radio disaster preparedness program in five Bay Area counties. The Radio Relay League is affiliated with the American Red Cross. Palmatier, of 4135 Porter a structural iron worker, will ordinate the organization's emergency efforts in Alameda, Contra Costa, Sonoma, Napa and Lake Counties. His group is similar to, but not affiliated with, other ama communications manager of the national Radio Relay League: ,1 Palmatier estimated there are radio amateurs in the Bay Area, operating with various types of equipment on widely separated radio bands.
