Over the years I have volunteered literally thousands of hours to the party because I take politics seriously and want to be able to continue to contribute and to serve the Republican Party. I want to continue to have a "voice" regarding the direction of our party. Abel is a publisher. Church: As government has grown large and remote, I feel it is importat to meet and evaluate candidates for office face to face and to impress upon them the needs of our community.

The state convention is an important opportunity to exercise the franchise and to seek committments from candidates for state office on issues of signficance to Noblesville and Noblesville Township. Church is an attorney. He and his wife Kathleen have two children, Juli and Jay. Ditslear: I wish to continue representing Noblesville Township at the State Republican Convention in the best possible manner. Ditslear is a personal and business insurance agent.

He and his wife Judy have two children. Jack and Nancy. Featherson: I chose to run for delegate because I am a classmate of a candidate running for state office. I want to lend my support. Featherston is a homemaker and volunteer.

She and her husband Melvin have four children, Scott, Kip, Jan F. Foulke and Amy F. Bowen. Hurst: I am a candidate for delegate to the state convention because I feel that I can take to the convention the opinions and views of the local voters. Hurst is public relations coordinator at the Indianapolis International Airport.

She and her husband Kenneth L. Hurst have two children Ken III and Tiffany. Logan: I am interested in Republican state candidates. Logan is mayor of Noblesville. Mallery: I believe I have a duty to support my party and participate in party affairs.

I also believe I have a well-rounded background to be a delegate to the Republican state convention since I am Hamilton County veterans service officer.a retired Air Force officer and a farmer. Mallery and his wife Eula have two children, Linda Mallery and Katrina Fossa. Moore: I've been interested in government since having Dick Dellinger in high school for government. Government is very interesting and I've made it a part of my life. Seeking the position of state delegate and winning the position is another way of representing the city of Noblesville in which I enjoy and am proud of taking a part in.

Moore is an executive secretary to the vice president of Canfield Beverages Co. She and her husband Paul have four children, Jerry, Nikki, Jason Kami. Waring: To learn about politics from the ground up. Waring is administrative assistant. Corporations Secretary of State's Office.

Bradley J. Bagwell Bradley J. Bagwell, 33, 31 Hidden Acres, Green town, is a quality engineer at Delco Electronics. He also is an associate with Applied Quality Concepts, a mangement consulting group. He is a graduate of Eastern High School, Greentown.

He received a bachelors degree in chemistry and a masters degree in business administration, both from Indiana University. He is a certified quality He is vice chairman of the American Society for Quality Control, president of Greentown Glass Festival, a member of the Greentown Lions Club, and chairman of the Howard County 4-H Fair queea pageant. He and his wife Patricia Ann have two sons, Christopher and Jeremy. Stephen J. Clifford Stephen J.

Clifford, 37, 1105 Fordice Road, Lebanon, is a district manager for The E.R. Carpenter Co. Clifford, a Lebanon High School graduate, attended Purdue University and IUPUI. He is working toward a bachelors degree in industrial organizational psychology at IUPUI. He is vice president of Lebanon Rotary Club, a past president of Boone County Chamber of Commerce and a past board member of Boone County YMCA.

Clifford says if elected, be will attend town board and city council meetings throughout his district regularly to communicate with city leaders and citizens. He and his wife Susan have three children, Danielle, Lacey and Devin. BradBayliff Brad Bayliff, 26, 3536 E. CR 300S, Kokomo, is a Realtor. He focuses his work on commercialinvestment sales and residential and commercial land development.

Bayliff, a Taylor High School graduate, was a liberal arts student at Indiana University, Kokomo. While in college he concentrated on social and behavioral sciences. He attended Indiana Realtor Institute. He is a candidate for designation as certified commercial investment member. He is a member of Kokomo Board of Realtors, Kokomo Chamber of Commerce, Kokomo Jaycees, Elks Lodge No 190, Kokomo, Real Estate Securities and Syndication Institute and Commercial Investment Council.

His wife is Paula Bayliff James R. Buck James R. Buck, 40, 4407 McKibben Drive, Kokomo, is a tool and die maker at Delco Electronics and broker and owner of Realty Exchange, Kokomo. Buck, a Logansport High School graduate, attended Toccoa Falls Bible College, Ball State University, Indiana University at Kokomo (where he studied political science) and completed his four-year journeyman tool and die status in 1969 at Delco Electronics. He is a precinct committeeman, a member of the Downtown Economic Development Commission, United Way Fund Raising Committee and County Animal Control Board.

He is a member of the national, state and Kokomo l)oards of Realtors and is a former member of the Farm and Land Institute and Indiana Realtor Exchangers Group. president of the Woodland Springs Neighborhood Association. He also is a member of Biotechnology Committee, Indiana Corporation for Science and Technology. Schmidte and his wife Gwynne have two children, Kim and Traci. inn i Hamilton County Republican! will elect 4 delegates to represent the county at the Republican state convention in the summer.

The county is divided 10 districts. Clay Township voters elect 24 delegates, eight from each of three districts. Voters within those districts elect the delegates. Additional information is provided about candidates who responded to questionnaires sent to them. Clay District 1 includes the precincts of -Clay Northwest, ML Carmel, Stonehedge, Richland, Johnson Acres, Cool Creek North, Cool Creek South, Brookfield Crossing, Brookshire North, Carmel Meadows.

Mohawk Hills and Clay Northeast. Candidates are E. Davis Coots, 5291 Woodfield Drive; James Garretson, 1007 Go If view Drive; Donald L. Cinder, SS7 Village Drive East; Stuart Hancock, 5040 Woodfield R. Holmes, 411 Jenny Lane, John R.

Holmes III, 411 Jenny Lane; Terrilyn Litvan. 1215 Fairbanks Drive; James Guy Miller, 4528 Abbey Drive; Robert E. Nibarger, 33 Lexington and Fred T. Swift, 627 Kinzer Drive, Carmel. Coots: I am seeking this position to participate in the state convention, for input into the party political platform and to support the Republican Party.

Coots is an attorney. He and his Nancy have two children, Barbra and Dartr Hancock: I have been a state delegate many times and believe as a grassroots worker (committeeman) that I am better informed on many issues and candidates rather than the average voter. I therefore think the citizenry should get the benefit of my knowledge and experience and to help select the best Republican ticket for general election. I also have attended two Republican national conventions and two national inaugurations. Hancock is a public insurance adjuster.

He and his wife Dottie have eight children, Jeff, Brad, Brenda, Angie, Tonya, Bret, Teresa and Shawn, and two grandchildren. Holmes: Because I care about good government and because of my longstanding interest and desire to make the community a better place for all, I would like to continue service to the Carmel Meadows precinct as a committeeman and delegate. He has three children, John III, Elizabeth and David. Holmes III In order for oinuiresent convention system to reipain a valuable asset to the political and governing processes, it is necessary to have active participation from our party's membership. As a delegate to the state convention, I intend to advance my interest and participation in our Republican Party and political process, as well as assisting to retain the integrity of the convention system.

In the past, as both a student Democrats will send seven Although Hamilton County Democrats are allowed to send 12 delegates to the state convention in June, only seven Democrats are candidates. Two of those will be eliminated in the primary due to contested races. Each of the Democrats' 11 districts is allowed to elect one delegate except for Noblesville Township which is allowed two. Shep Cutler, 1939 Franklin Carmel, and Frank J. Swindler, 11105 Lakeshore Drive West. Carmel. The Jackson Township race is between Willis E.

Brown, 490 S. Main Cicero, and Gary Dennis Harden, 980 Beacon Lane, Cicero. Other Democratic candidates are Clay 3 (the precincts of Clay Southwest, Spring Mill, West Home Place, Lady Hamilton, College, Orchard Park, Pleasant Grove, Woodland, Holaday, Briar Creek and Lakewood), Nate Solomon, 926 Preston Drive; Delaware, Joy C. Wilson, 7609 Cambridge Drive, Noblesville; and Washington, Clayton R. Nix, 15605 Buena Vista Drive, Carmel.

Several candidates responded to a questionnaire that asked: What are your reasons for seeking this position? The answers follow. Cutler: Experience and knowledge about the office. I can truly represent fairly the voters of my precinct, township, county and state. Cutler is an insurance executive. He and his wife Lisa have one son, Geoffrey.

believe everyone should be involved in one party or the other. Only a two-party system should prevail. It makes better candidates and better government. Brown is an operator for the Indianapolis Water Co. He and his wife Elizabeth have two children, Jillene Luce and Willis Anthony.

Harden: The people need someone who listens, who cares and who tries, Harden is manager of automotive services at AAA Hoosier Motor He and his wife Maryetta have two daughters, Laura and Christine. and young adult, I have found party politics, especially the state convention, to be an exciting and educational experience; one which I desire to continue. Holmes is a student at Purdue University. Litvan: 1 have been elected a delegate the past two Republican conventions but this will be the first time there are any contested offices to be decided at the convention. If I am correct, there are 10 people running for the eight seats from my district, but I am the only woman of the 10.

Women have to be willing to get involved if they want to be heard and make a difference. Litvan is a homemaker. She and her husband Leonard have three children, Laurie, Beth and Ted. Clay District 1 includes the precincts of Clay Center, Guilford, Rangeline, Hunters Trace, Dan Warren, Keystone, Greensprings, Eden Brook 1, Eden Brook 2, Brookshire and White Chapel. Only six candidates are slated.

They are Sharon R. Clark, 11032 Pebblebrook Lane; John Hensel, 3228 E. 106th Lee R. Lonzo. 11348 Fieldstone Court; George F.

Stevens, 11324 Lakeshore Drive East; David L. Taylor, 11412 Dona Drive; and Billy Lee Walker, 721 Auman Drive West. Clark: I am running for state delegate to participate in the election process for state' officials of our party. Clark is a small business owner. She and her husband Warren have two children, Sabrina Kay and Rebekah Celeste.

Hensel: I enjoy participating in the selection of our candidates. Hensel is Clay Township trustee, a self-employed farmer and a substitute bus driver for Carmel-Clay schools. Clay District 3 includes the precincts of Clay Southwest, Spring MiU, West Home Place, Lady Hamilton, College, Orchard Park, Pleasant Grove, Woodland, Holaday, Briar Creek and Lakewood. Only six candidates are slated. They are Meredith L.

Carter: To increase the effectiveness and efficiency of county government and to work toward the improvement of local government management. Carter is vice president of Indiana Vocational Technical College.

Smith: I am seeking this position because of my continued interest in my party and the need for continuing to choose the best candidates for offices at local, state and national levels. Smith retired in 1984 from her job as administration assistant to the mayor of Carmel. She and her husband Robert have four children and three grandchildren. Swain: I have been been committeeman and delegate since 1976. 1 enjoy representing the Republican party in my local neighborhood and township affairs.

I want to give the residents of my neighborhood the service they deserve when it comes to voter registration, absentee voter applications and whatever other assistance I can when requested to do so. Swain is a quality assurance reviewer for ITT Educational Services, Inc. He and his wife Charlotte hve three children, Laurie, George and Bethany. No other township is divided into districts'. and bookkeeper. Kirkman, a Western High School graduate, attended Ivy Tech at Kokomo. She is a 4-H adult leader, president of Farmer tter Extension Homemakers, state legislative director of District IS Road Division, member of Howard County Extension Advisory Council, the Howard County Extension Service board of directors, the Howard County Republican Women's Federation and the Howard County Young Republicans. She was appointed to the advisory board to Vincennes University Building Materials Program by the Indiana Lumber Builders and Suppliers Association, Kirkman and her husband Charles have two sons, Todd and Kirt. Rodger Fain Rodger Fain, 41, 415 E.

CR 400S, Kokomo, is Kokomo police chief. He has been on the police force for 20 years. He was the 1985 state recipient of the American Legion Law Enforcement Officer of the Year a ward. A Kokomo High School graduate, Fain received an associates degree in criminal justice from Indiana University at Kokomo. He is a member of Rotary Club, FOP, Association of Chiefs of Police, Phi Delts and Masonic Lodge.

He is a school board member and is affiliated with United Way and American Heart Association. He is a Little League baseball coach and YMCA youth basketball coach. He is the founding director of the Police Athletic League. He was a co-chairman of the initial fund drive to start Howard County Big BrothersBig Sisters. Fain and his wife Stella have three children, Rodger Shawn Patrick and Nicole Renee.

Richard M. Dellinger Richard M. Dellinger, SO, 140 N. 15th Noblesville, is a teacher at Noblesville High School. He has taught school for 27 years.

He received his bachelors degree from Ball State University and his masters degree from Butler University. A state representative since 1973, Dellinger is Indiana House Majority Leader. He serves on the commerce and elections committees and is vice chairman of the rules and legislative procedures committee. He is a member of Elks Lodge, Noblesville. He and his wife Jan have two sons, Rick and Mike.

John W. Donaldson John W. Donaldson, 59, 129 N. Meridian Lebanon, is an attorney and state representative. As a representative, be is a member of Judicial Study Commission, Criminal Law Study Commission and the Governor's Task Force on Drunk Driving.

He is the senior member of both houses of the Indiana General Assembly. A Lebanon High School graduate, Donaldson received his bachelors degree from DePauw University, attended the U.S. Naval Academy and received his law degree from the Indiana University School of Law. He is a U.S. Navy veteran.

Donaldson is a member of the Boone County, Indiana and American Bar Associations, Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, Indiana Defense Lawyers Association, Elks and American Legion. He is a life member of Disabled American Veterans and is an elder in the Presbyterian church. He and his wife Sara have three children, Carmen, Cathy and Brad, and five grandchildren. James L. Davis James L.

Davis, 58, 1351 Forest Drive, Frankfort, is a farmer and real estate broker. He received his bachelors degree in agricultural economics from Purdue University. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1946-48 and 1950-51. Davis has been the Clinton County Republican chairman since October 1975.

He worked as legislative liasion for Attorney General Linley Pearson during the 1981 and 1982 sessions of the Indiana General Assembly. He was elected to replace Bill Montgomery as state representative of District 28 in June 1982 and was in 1982 and 1984. He is a member of Masons, Scottish Rite, Shrine, Elks, Moose, American Legion, Sigma Chi, First Presbyterian Church, Frankfort, and Purdue Club of Clinton County.
