George Thompson, Detroit, was solemnized December 21 at 4 p. m. at Salem Reformed church, Broadway. Frostburg, by who Rev. George Wehler, pastor, performed the double ring ceremony.

The muid of honor was Miss Betty Virginia Wilson, this city, and Dr. Glenn Detroit, served as best man. The ushers were John Hartig, and Karl Hartig, brother and cousin of the bride. Preceding the ceremony Miss Margaret Jones sung "At Dawning, Promise Me." and "Becuuse." The bride, given In marriage by her lather, was attired in a long white gown of bridal satin, designed with sweetheart neckline, long fitted sleeves, tight bodice, full skirt and train. Her fingertip veil of illusion was held by a halo of satin rosebuds and her only jewelry was a single strand of pearls.

Ellerslie Couple Married In Double Ring Ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Clifton H. Close, Elferslie, announce the marriage of their daughter, Betty Louise, Duane F. Shaffer, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Kenneth L. Shafter, also of Ellerslie. The double zing ceremony, by candlelight, was performed by the Rev. W.

J. Loyd in the Ellerslie Evangelical United Brethren church, which WaS decorated with white flowers. Miss Almeda Shroyer was maid of honor and the bride's only attendant. Leon Shaffer served as best man for his brother, and Robert Close and John Karns were ushers. The bride wore a white salin gown with a fingertip veil of bridal illusion and carried an arm bouquet of American Beauty roses.

Miss Shroyer was attired in a pink net gown with 8 matching shoulderlength vell and carried an arm bouquet of Talisman roses. A reception WAS held in table the church social room, where the WAS adorned with a three-tiered wedding cake, topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom, Mr. and Mrs. Shaffer are residling in Ellerslie. Simons In Centre St. Methodist Church Centre Street Methodist church was the scene of a pretty ceremony at 7 o'clock Inst evoning when Mrs. Mary Simons, daughter of Mrs. S. W.

Wenverling, 721 Oldtown rond, and the late Scott Weaverling, became the bride Carl Grimes, son of Joseph Grimes, Norlh Mechanic street. The Rev. Dr. Walter M. Michael officiated.

White flowers carrying out the bridal theme in combination with the Christmas decorations were used in the chancel. Mrs. Edna Loper, organist, played the traditional wedding marches and accompanied William W. Wood, sang "Because" and Promise preceding the ceremony. At the benediction Mrs.

Loper played "The Lord's Prayer." Mrs. Grace Stemple was matron of honor and the bride's only attendant, and Dana, Zehrbach served as best man for Mr. Grimes. The ushers were Henry Morrissey of Cumberland, and Allison Reese, Altoona, nephew of the bride. The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother-in-law, 'Ralph Baker of Norfolk, Virginia, wore floor-length crepe dress of petal pink, fashioned with fitted bodice, braided in a silver design, which was repeated on the short sleeves and outlining the jewel neckline.

She wore matching pink feather offface hat, with a short pink veil, and long pink gloves, and carried an old fashioned bouquet with an orchid center. Mrs, Stemple was attired in a palc blue crepe -length dress, with which she wore a matching blue feather hat with veil, long white loned bouquet. gloves, and to also carried an old fashMrs. Weaverling chose 8 black dress with silver nail head trimming, with a gray hat and corsage of pink rosebuds, for her daughter's wedding. Following the church ceremony reception was held at the Ali Ghan Shrine City Club, where the decorations were in the bridal theme combined with Christmas greenery and the table was centered with a tiered wedding cake.
