All thrills of the big top were given hundreds of Missoula circus fans Monday night when the Knights of Columbus all-professional circus opened its six-day engagement in Loyola auditorium. Circus atmosphere prevailed, offering balloons, peanuts and 1 pink lemonade along a midway of circus attractions operated by members of the local Knights of Columbus, who will use all proceeds from the show for their crippled children's and charity funds. All acts presented on the hour program are headliners from the large outdoor tent show. Free dancing at the conclusion nightly performances is one of the highlights enjoyed by those attending. The 18-act all-professional program opened with a clever dog and pony act- presented by Belle Wheeler.

There then followed Bill Le Tourneau on the high balancing trapeze; Rue and Laura Enos, internationally known contortionists; Pete McMahon, offering feats of equilibrium on the slack wire; the famous educated pony, "Sparkle." that answers questions by nodding her head. Laughs were furnished the audience by "Dynamite Maud," the unridable mule, who challenged all comers. An aerial act both beautiful and spectacular was presented by Miss Gladys LeTourneau in her human butterfly spinning act. From the Santas Artegas circus of Cuba came Senior Don LaVola, known as the Cuban wizard of the high Spanish wire. The first half of the program was brought to a close by contortion and dancing act of the Hood children, clever juvenile circus performers, who, despite their youth, already are veteran troupers.

a brief intermission the second part of the program got under way with the McMahon family of high wire artists presenting their balancing feats on the silver thread, and there then the Jargo troupe of clowns; Miss Lefollowed, Tourneau, in her death-defying somersault heel catch from a flying trapeze in midair; Belle and Vivian on the high Spanish web; Captain Burns, presenting his pot-pourri of trained dogs, monkies and ponies; "Iron Jaw' Mott, circus strong man in amazing feats of strength. The program closed with a troupe of performing razorback hogs executing remarkable tricks. This act was the most unusual among the animal numbers presented.
