Deaths More obituaries on page Herbert T. Nesheim HOT SPRINGS Services for Herbert T. Nesheim, 90, South Dakota State Veterans Home resident, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Veterans Home Chapel with the Rev. Peter Dahlberg officiating.

Burial will be in Black Hills National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday under direction of McColley's Chapel of the Hills. A memorial has been established for Deep Creek Community Church. Nesheim died Saturday at the Veterans Home. He was born Feb.

3, 1895, at Decorah, Iowa, the son of John and Anna Nesheim, and attended schools at Decorah. He lived at Barstow, Philip and Faith before retiring at the Veterans Home. He was a World War I veteran. Survivors include a nephew, Mel Nesheim, and several grandnephews and grandnieces. He was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters.

Gladys E. Satterlee HOT SPRINGS Services for Gladys E. Satterlee, 73, Hot Springs, will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at McColley's Chapel of the Hills with the Rev. Peter Dahlberg officiating.

Burial will be in the Black Hills National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. A memorial has been established for the Hot Springs American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Satterlee died Saturday at her home in Hot Springs.

She was born March 11, 1912, at Elk Point to Jess and Elsie Merrill, but lived most of her life in the Hot Springs area. She owned several cafes and managed the Hot Springs municipal bar for 22 years. She was a member of and held all the offices of the American Legion Auxiliary at Hot Springs and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She also worked as a volunteer at the Hot Springs Veterans Administration Medical Center. Surviving are one son, Albert La Rouche, Hot Springs; two daughters, Ann LaRouche, Hot Springs, and Irma Uzel, Gillette, eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, one son, Harold LaRouche, a grandson and a great-grandson. William (Dick) Johnson BUFFALO Funeral services for William 0. "Dick" Johnson, 76, of St. Onge will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in South Cave Hills Lutheran Church north of Buffalo with the Rev.

Jack Hill of Lead officiating. Visitation will be at Frost Son Funeral Home in Belle Fourche from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery with 1 Masonic graveside rites by Cedar Lodge 179 of Buffalo.

A memorial has been established to the Senior Citizens Center of Buffalo and the Cave Hills Cemetery Care Fund. Johnson died Saturday in the Belle Fourche Health Care Center. He was born June 25, 1908, in Parsons, W.Va., to Worth and Cora Johnson and moved with them as a boy 1 to Buckhannon, W.Va., where he graduated from high school. He attended Mountain State Business School in Parkersburg, W.Va., and later worked a year in his father's garage. Johnson made a trip to South Dakota in 1925 and returned in 1928 and married Mary Jane Clarkson of Buffalo.

They bought a ranch in the South Cave Hills where they lived until 1957 when they semi-retired and moved into Buffalo. In 1967 he bought into the Buffalo Hardware Lumber Co. His wife died in 1980 and he lived in Buffalo until July 18, 1982, when he married Lyla Stephens of St. Onge, where they made their home. He was a member of Cedar Branch Lodge 179 and Grand River Chapter 162 of the Order of Eastern Star, both of Buffalo, and the South Cave Hills Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife Lyla; a son, William Johnson of Buffalo; a daughter, Greta Turbiville of Buffalo; two sisters, Mrs. Opal Barton of Parsons, W.Va., and Mrs. Geraldine Casto of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a stepdaughter, Rosalie Millar of Broadus, seven grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren, two stepgrandchildren; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Whittemore of Spearfish.

He was preceded in death by his first wife. Floyd M. Coolley Floyd M. Coolley, 84, died Monday in a Rapid City nursing home. Among his survivors are two daughters, Margaret Dinning of Long Beach, and Patricia Ann Coolley of Rapid City.

ELM SPRINGS Mass of Christian burial for John "Johnny" J. Tines 68, Elm Springs, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathederal in Rapid City. The Rev. Peter Wilke will be celebrant.

Rosary services will be Monday at 7:30 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in New Underwood. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Rapid City. A memorial has been established to the Elm Springs and Wasta fire departments.

Tines died Saturday at Rapid City Regional Hospital. He was born April 22, 1916, in Indianola, to John and Catherine Tines. He moved to South Dakota with his parents in 1917, settling in the Lakeside area. In 1939 he moved to Boneita Springs. He married Natalie Swanson April 4, 1940, 1 in New Underwood.

They lived in Boneita Springs and New Underwood. In 1947 they moved to Elm Springs where he went into the trucking business. Tines was a member of the Elm Springs Fire Department, New Underwood Roping Club, Buckaroos, Family Wagon Train Rides and South Dakota Trucking Association. Surviving are his wife, Natalie of Elm Springs; two sons, Jack Tines of Wasta and Cary Tines of Elm Springs; two daughters, Joan Reichert and Kay Williamson, both of New Underwood; three sisters, Myrna Erichson, Elsie Simon, and Lois Stalken, 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by one brother.

Lavee W. Nichols SAN JACINTO, Calif. Rapid City area native Lavee Williams Ni Nichols, 76, died last Thursday from injuries received in a car accident. A memorial service will be Friday in San Jacinto, Calif. A memorial has been established to the Cancer Society.

Mrs. Nichols was born Oct. 26, 1908, on a ranch east of Rapid City. She was raised there and graduated from Rapid City High School. Surviving are her husband, Marlow Nichols of San Jacinto; one son, Dr.

Wayne Nichols of Ray, two sisters, Ella Sasiadek and Alta Palloch, both of Rapid City; one grandson, Mike Nichols of Windsor, and one granddaughter, Donna Nichols of Denver. Muriel M. Hoyt Services for Muriel M. Hoyt, 67, Rapid City, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home, with the Rev.

Dr. Richard Ward officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to Friends of the Library.

Miss Hoyt died Saturday in a Rochester, hospital. She was born April -11, 1918, at Bismarck, N.D., to Bert and Jayne Hoyt. She grew up and graduated from high school at Linton, N.D. She attended Valley City (N.D.) State College and later graduated from Black Hills State College at Spearfish. She taught elementary school in the Douglas School System at Ellsworth Air Force Base for nine years.

She worked in various women's apparel shops for a number of years in Rapid City. She most recently worked at Daisy's in Rapid City. She also taught piano. Miss Hoyt was a member of the American Association of University Women and a laureate of Beta Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Surviving are one brother, Burton Hoyt of Cypress, Texas; one sister, Helen Hoyt of Rapid City, one niece and one nephew, Jane and Stephen Hoyt, both of Cypress.

Dorothy Alice Baker CUSTER Graveside services for Dorothy Alice Baker, 72, were held Saturday at Custer Cemetery with the Rev. Horace Parsons presiding. She died May 5 in Rosemond, where she had resided for the past few years with her son, William. Mrs. Baker was born Dec.

28, 1912, to Charles and Alice Ennis of Custer. She married Roy Baker July 5, 1930. Surviving are three children, Hazel Ashley, of Athens, Edward of San Diego, and William of Rosemond, 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, William Ennis of Custer. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and two grandchildren. Arrangements are through McColley Funeral Home of Custer.

Dupree BLACK HAWK Services for William Bryon Dupree, 59, Black Hawk, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Behrens Mortuary in Rapid City. The Rev. John Moe will officiate. Burial will be in Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, with military graveside rites by the Sturgis Veterans Group Honor Guard.

Visitation at the mortuary will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday. A memorial has been established.

Dupree died Saturday at his home in Black Hawk. He was born Aug. 20, 1925, in Rapid City to William and Florence Dupree. He went to school in Rapid City and served in the Navy during World War II. Dupree married Lyla Brosdahl Dec.

31, 1950, in Rapid City. They lived in Rapid City until 1963, and in Deadwood from 1963 to 1978. He had lived in Black Hawk since 1978. Dupree worked for Rushmore Vending Inc. the past five years.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge, and a past Veterans of Foreign Wars member in Rapid City. Surviving are his wife, Lyla of Black Hawk; one son, William Dupree of Lead; one brother, Don Dupree of Dousman, and two grandsons. He was preceded in death by one son. Ruth Hix SPEARFISH Services for Ruth Hix, 73, Spearfish, are pending with Fidler Funeral Chapel. Mrs.

Hix died early Monday at Lookout Memorial Hospital. Among survivors is her husband, Ivan.
