John Semsey NEWCASTLE. Wyo. Service for John Semsey, 81, longtime area resident, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at McColley Funeral Home Chapel In Newcastle.

The Rev Peter Dahlberg will officiate. Burial, with Masonic graveside rites, will be I m. In Black Hills National Cemetery near SturRis. Semsey died Friday when the car he was driving collided with a semi-truck on Highway 18 seven miles east of Newcastle. He had been living at the Hot Springs Veterans Administration Center since 1974.

Semsey was born Feb. 27, 1891, In Kingston, N.Y., to Andrew and Mary Semsey. He lived In Weston and Crook counties in Wyoming from the late 18WH until four years ago. He worked on ranches, drove the U.S. mall with horses, and was a carpenter for Burlington Railroad from 1950 until when he retired.

During World War I Semsey served with a supply company of the 31st Infantry In Vladivostok, Siberia. He married Margaret Miller Dec. 24, 1923. at SpearflHh. In 1951 he married Pearl Furman at Billings, Mont.

Semsey was a 50-year member and past master of Sundance, Masonic Lodge No. 9, and a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by a son, Andrew of Evanston. a stepson, E. A.

Miller of Sundance, a stepdaughter, Hazel Wlltse of Newcastle; a brother, Louis of Soquel, two sisters, Margaret Zakhar of Los Gatos, and Mary Ahlstrom of West Hollywood, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife. Pearl In 1957, one son, two sisters and two brothers. A memorial has been established to the Sundance Masonic Lodge building fund. Elmer Linn Elmer Linn, 82.

Rapid City, died Sunday at Fort Meade Veterans Administration Hospital. He was a former Elm Springs resident, Services will be 2 m. Wednesday at Elm Springs Community Church with the Rev. Bruce Stokka officiating. Burial will be In Elm Springs Cemetery under direction of Behrens Mortuary.

Linn was born Feb. 16, 1896. at Elm Springs. He attended school In the Elm Springs area and Brookings School of Agriculture at Brookings. While attending school In Brookings Linn joined the South Dakota National Guard.

He served on the Mexican border and in France during World War I. He married Emma Printz June 1. 1932. They ranched at Elm Springs until 1961. when they retired and moved to Rapid City.

Survivors Include four sons, John and James of Elm Springs, Charles of Pierre and Robert of Houston, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Mabel) Wilson, and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1978, two brothers, Clyde and Robert, and two sisters, Esther and Lillian. A memorial has been established to the heart fund and Elm Springs Community Church. Loyd J.

Osheim CANTON Loyd J. Osheim. 55, died at his home in Canton on April 17. Services were held at Anderson Funeral Home of Canton and burial was In Canton Lutheran Cemetery. Osheim was born Oct.

17, 1922, at Canton. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He graduated from the University of Kansas at Lawrence, and worked for Mobil Oil in Billings. Mont.

He has lived at Canton since 1965. He is survived by one brother, Ozzle Osheim, Rapid City. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. He had moved to Rapid City from eastern South Dakota short time ago. Services will be at 1 m. Wednesday at Rapid Valley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob McBrlde officiating. Burial will be In Black Hills National Cemetery.

Manger was bom Aug. 14, 1924, In Kennebec. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors Include his wife Helen of Rapid City; two daughters by a previous marriage. Mrs.

Berry (Janine) Betts of Billings, and Mrs. Michael (Sharlene) Prlebe of Pukwana; two brothers, Ray of Rockford, and Roy of Chamberlain; four stepchildren, two grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Rachel Manger. Horace Richardson Horace J. "Rich" Richardson, 64 Rapid City, died In a Sturgis hospital Sunday morning.

Richardson was born April 8, 1914. He is survived by one son, Michael, Raptd City. Services are pending under the direction of the Osheim Catron Funeral Home. Frances Byers LODGEPOLE Frances Babe Byers. long-time area rancher and farmer, died Saturday at Hillcrest Care Center at Hettinger, N.D.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bison Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William Knickel officiating. Burial will be In Bison Cemetery under the direction of Evenson-Jensen Funeral Home of Lemmon. Miss Byers was born Feb.

28. 1891. In Bloomington, 111., to Alfred and Mary Byers. They moved by covered wagon to Spring Creek in the Black Hills in 1885. In 1900 they moved to the Cash area where they farmed and ranched.

In 1907 Miss Byers filed on a homestead in Cash Township where she lived until three years ago when she moved to Hillcrest Care Center. Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews including Oliver Green of Lodgepole and Mrs. Cecil (Frances) Miller of Shadehill. PIERRE Service for Theresa M. Harmon, 02, who died Saturday at her Pierre home, will be at 2 m.

Tuenday at Lutheran Memorial Church. A prayer service was scheduled for 8 p.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home. Burial will be In Riverside Cemetery. Mrs.

Hanson was born Oct. 8, 1915, at Dallas, the daughter of Jacob and Bertha Knlttle. She attended school at Dallas. On Dec. 7.

1933. she was married to John C. Hanson at Hartlngton, Neb. They farmed In the Gregory area until 1937, moving that year to a farm near Wayne, Neb. In 19tt, they returned to Gregory and farmed there until 1OT9, when they moved to Pierre.

In Pierre, she was a secretary In the Department of Public Safety. Surviving are her husband, John, Pierre; two daughters, Jacquelyn Kalenda, Winner, and Laurel Dandrldge, Billings, four sons, Dwayne of Holdrege, Darrell of Rapid City, Joe of Pierre and Monte of Faulkton; three brothers, Ed, Albert and Jacob Knlttle, all of Gregory, three sisters, Alvlna Elsenbraun of Gregory, Elsie Svoboda of Iona and Esther Suing of Bloomfleld, 17 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A memorial has been established to the Lutheran Memorial Church. William Calvert STURGIS Services for William L. Calvert, 89, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m.

at Fldler Funeral Chapel In Spearfish with the Rev. Arthur W. Westwood, pastor of United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be In Rosehill Cemetery. Calvert, a resident of Sturgis since the 1950s, died Saturday morning at his home In Sturgis.

He was born Nov. 28, 1888, In Raymond to George and Imogene Calvert. He married Bessie Lavlna Beach on Dec. 20, 1906, at Clark. The family moved to Spearfish In 1929 and in 1942 they moved to Rapid City.

They lived for a time in Keystone before moving to Sturgis In the 1950s. Mr. and Mrs. Calvert owned and operated a trailer court in Sturgis. Mrs.

Calvert died In 1964. Calvert ran the trailer court until 1971 when he retired. Survivors include four sons, Frank of Sioux Falls, Arland of Redfield, George of Torrance, Calif, and Warren of San Jose, a brother, Warren of Clark; 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded In death by three sons, Robert, Eldon and Russell; one grandchild; three great-grandchildren; two sisters. Mildred Ebbert and Ruth Bible, and a brother, Roy.

John Wiehl PIEDMONT John Wiehl. 75, Piedmont, died Friday In a Rapid City hospital. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday In the Church of St. Therese.

Rapid City. The Rev. Leo O'Doherty will officiate. Burial will be In Mount Calvary Cemetery. Christian wake service with rosary will be 7:30 p.m..

Monday at Behrens Mortuary. Wiehl was born Feb. 15, 1903, at Aasen, Germany. He came to the United States in 1923 and ranched In the Elk Creek community. He married Clara N.
