Both people graduated from Butte High School and the College of Great Falls. She is a medical receptionist at a Great Falls clinic.

A graduate of Carroll College, Jessie will attend medical school at the University of Washington in a year. Brent graduated from Montana Tech with a degree in occupational safety and health. The Kautzmans took a honeymoon trip to the Oregon coast, Phoenix, and Disneyland. They will live in Bozeman for one year and then move to Seattle. The bride's grandparents are Ray Cashell and Lois DePlazes, and the groom's grandparents are Alice Smith, and Betty and Blondie Patrick. D.J. received a bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering from Montana Tech and works for Montana Tunnels Mining in Jefferson City.

Following a reception at the Race Track Fire Hall, the Patricks took a wedding trip to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Currently, they are at home in Butte.
