Thomas Jefferson was a great American whose ideas play an important part in our lives today.

This year, there have been many events marking the 250th anniversary of his birth. He was bom on April 13, 1743. One of the important things that JefTerson did was to write the Declaration of Independence. The day that it wa adopted, July 4, 1776, is celebrated as our country's birthday. Its an interesting fact that Jefferson died 50 years later on July 4, 1 826.
