John Paul, S.J., as celebrant. Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery at Porcupine. He died Tuesday night at Pine Ridge Hospital. Wake services will begin 2 p.m. Friday at the church hall.

He was born Nov. 7, 1944, at Pine Ridge to David and Alfreda (Richard) Janis Sr He attended No. 10 Day School at Manderson and also attended school at Flandreau and Pine Edwin R. Maki Services are pending for Edwin R. Maki, 62, Rapid City, who died unexpectedly in San Antonio, Texas, early Wednesday morning Survivors include his wife, Katherine Maki.

Osheim-Catron Funeral Home of Rapid City is in charge of arrangements. Grant Otis ST.ONGE fa Services for Grant Otis, 69, St. Onge, will be 10 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Belle Fourche with the Rev. Tom Martin officiating.

He died Tuesday at Rapid City Re Ridge He received special training at mechanics school at Chicago He was an auto mechanic in the Pine Ridge area and worked on area ranches. He married Marge Sierra of Kyle. Survivors include his wife, of Kyle, one daughter, Alfreda Bissonette of Chadron, one brother, David Janis Jr. of Manderson; four sisters, Marie Shields and Arlene Martin, both of Pine Ridge, Mona Martin of Manderson and Florence Janis of Rapid City; four grandchildren; and numerous stepgrandchildren. today at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City with the Rev. Allen Bates and the Rev. Roland "Chip" Denief officiating. Burial will be in Pine Lawn Memorial Park. He died Sunday evening in a car accident.

Visitation will be at the funeral home today Denief from 9 a.m. to service time. A memorial was established. He was born Feb. 16, 1936, at St.

John's, Newfoundland, to Michael and Violet (Frances) Denief. He grew up and was educated in Newfoundland. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He moved to New York City in 1959 and attended St. Joseph's Seminary in New York.

He worked for Pontiac Motor Co. at Detroit before moving to Rapid City. Denief married Jean Ann Howie Nov. 24, 1965, in Rapid City. For a time he was an independent electrical contractor in Rapid City.

He also worked for Buckingham Transportation, Barber Transportation and Hyman Freightways. He founded his own business, Shippers Consulting Services of Rapid City. He was a member and elder of the Black Hawk Community Church. Survivors include his wife, of Black Hawk; four sons, Rick Denief of Longmont, Vince Denief and Geoffrey Denief, both of Black Hawk, MONDAY (4 p.m. to 7 p.m.) Acct.

Services for Mary Pleak, 97, Newcastle, will be 2 p.m. today at McColley Chapel in Newcastle with the Rev. Gene Hag-erman of First United Methodist Church officiating Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with rites by Order of the Eastern Star. She died Tuesday at Weston Manor nursing home after a long illness. A memorial was established to Weston Manor nursing home.

She was born Oct. 7, 1893, in Flavil. Switzerland, to Joseph and Marie (Dutil) Ammann. In May 1894 she immigrated with her mother to the United States to join her father, who had traveled earlier to Preston, Kan. The family later moved to Colorado where Mary was educated.

On June 17, 1913, she married Al-vin Lewis, a mining engineer, at Lamar, Colo. He died in 1918, leaving Mary and two daughters. Shortly after, Mary brought her mother, sister and brother to live with her. She married Fred Harris on Dec. 24, 1924.

After he died in 1940, Mary continued to manage his business interests for several years. In 1943 she sold her business interests and moved to Denver, where she attended a floral school. She and her daughter, Selma, moved to Newcastle in July 1948, where they opened the first flower shop in Weston County. In June 1952 she married T.B. "Blaine" Pleak and they lived in Newcastle.

He died in 1983. She moved to the nursing home in 1986 because of failing health. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. She also was a member of Chapter AG, P.E.O., which she helped organize. She helped organize the Dirt Daubers Garden Club and helped form the Wyoming State Federation of Garden Clubs.

She also was active in CowBelles, the Methodist Church, Women's Club and other organizations. In 1977 she was chosen Beta Sigma Phi First Lady, an honor that pleased her greatly. During her lifetime she spent many hours working in organizations and projects that improved life for her family and friends. Survivors include two daughters, Selma Culver of Newcastle and Frances Hudson of Denver, two stepdaughters, Madeline Grieves of Newcastle and Maureen La Fleishe of Laramie; and one grandson. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, four brothers and one sister.

Vyra Mae Fowler CUSTER Services for Vyra Mae Fowler, 88, Custer, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Custer Community Church with the Rev. Andy Smith officiating. Inurnment will be in Custer Cemetery. She died Wednesday at a Custer nursing home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 1 a.m. Saturday at Custer Community Church. A memorial was established as a scholarship fund for Custer Community Church. She was born Oct.

27, 1902, at Spearfish to James and Nellie (Glan-ville) Henderson. She was raised in Spearfish, graduating from Spearfish Normal School in 1921 with a teaching certificate. She was a teacher for one year in Montana, two years in Deadwood and five years in Pierre. She then attended nursing school from 1929 to 1932 at Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, where she was certified as a registered nurse. She then worked several years in Minneapolis.

She began working at the Custer Sanitarium in 1942 and worked there for 24 years, retiring in 1966. She was a member of Custer Community Church, the Mary-Martha Circle, was a letter-writing volunteer at Colonial Manor nursing home and was active in Senior Citizens. Survivors include three nieces, Mary Lou Erikson of Newcastle, Delia Mae Cunningham of Rapid City and Jennifer Rupersburg of Caledonia, and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Fowler, in 1958, and by one brother and one sister. McColley's Chapels of the Southern Hills in Custer is in charge of arrangements.

Clara Mary Hemesath PRESHO Mass of Christian resurrection for Clara Mary Hemesath, 84, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church in Presho. Mrs. Hemesath died Tuesday at Maryhouse Care Center at Pierre. Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m.

today at the church. Burial will be in Holy Angels Cemetery at Presho, under direction of Hofmeister Funeral Chapel. She was born Sept. 22, 1906, at Elizabeth, to Henry and Josephine gional Hospital. Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m.

today at Frost and Sons Funeral Home in Belle Fourche Burial will be in Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche. A memorial has been established. He was born April 26, 1921, at Gordon, to Ralph and Eva (Green) Otis. He grew up and attended school in Gordon. He graduated from high school there.

He married Illys Perrett July 27, 1941. They ranched in the Gordon and Porcupine areas before moving in 1962 to the Butte County and Harding County areas where they ranched. They later moved to Belle Fourche and then to St. Onge. Survivors include his wife, of St.

Onge; a daughter, Linda Martin of Newell; a son. Bill Otis of Litchfield Park, seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Audrey Morgan of Hemet, Calif. He was preceded in death by a brother, an infant daughter and a grandson. Elizabeth A. Lund KELSEYVILLE, Calif.

Memorial services for former Rapid City resident Elizabeth Ann Lund, 60, Kel-seyville, will be noon Friday at Jones Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel in Lower Lake. She died Sunday at a Lakeport hospital. A memorial has been established to the charity of the donor's choice. She was born Aug. 6, 1930, in Bend, Ore.

She lived in Rapid City, S.D., for 12 years. She was a member of the Whispering Pines Fire Department Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 2337 and the Episcopal Church. Survivors include her husband, H. Robert Lund of Kelseyville; her mother, Ruby Pontius of Sacramento; a son, Buddie Young of Lower Lake; a daughter, Betty Wilson of Kelseyville; two sisters, Ellon Pontius of San Diego and Dorothy Gitchel of Sacramento; and five grandchildren. Genevieve Vermundson PIERRE Services for Genevieve Opal Vermundson, 60, of Pierre, who died Monday at St.

Mary's Hospital, will be 2 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church of Pierre. The Rev. Brad Ur-bach and the Rev. Jay Reinke will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at Hofmeister Funeral Chapel in Pierre. She was born Aug. 8, 1930, at Columbia to Charles and Grace (Morris) Tople.

She grew up and attended school at Bristol and Pierpont. On Aug. 10, 1947, she married Robert Vermundson at Webster. They lived on a farm near Pierpont until 1956 when they moved to Fort Pierre. In September 1975 they moved to Pierre.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Pierre. She loved attending her grandchildren's church, school and sports activities. Surviving are her husband, of Pierre; three sons, Gary Vermundson of Rapid City, and Dale Vermundson and Mike Vermundson, both of Pierre; two daughters, Sandra Wagner of Rapid City and Vicki Fuller of Mansfield, Texas; two brothers, Or-ville Tople of Aberdeen and Eugene Tople of Pierre; four sisters, Anna Monson of Pierre, Sylvia Mahlen of Roslyn, Henrietta Flagtvedt of Pierpont and Charlotte Bolland of Bloomington, 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Randy Vermundson in June 1989, six brothers and one sister. Ellsworth John Schneider CUSTER Services for Ellsworth John Schneider, 75, Custer, will be 10 a.m.

Friday at McColley's Chapels of the Southern Hills in Custer with Dennis Tippett officiating. Burial will be in Custer Cemetery. He died Tuesday at Custer Community Hospital. He was born Nov. 2, 1915, at Mitchell to John W.

and Grace (Lode) Schneider. After attending Mitchell public schools, he served in the Army during World War II. He founded Mitchell Concrete Products in 1945, which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1983. He married Lola M. Andrews of Mitchell June 24, 1940.

He was past president of the South Dakota Concrete Manufacturers Association and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, of Custer; two daughters, Susan Schneider and Donna Schneider, both of Custer, a fitter, Helen Gillette of Custer; and a granddaughter, Ashley. Mildred Hoard SPEARF1SH Services for Mildred Lorraine Trebelcock Hoard, 60, Spearfish, who died Monday at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Hills-view Church of the Nazarene in Spearfish The Rev.

Dennis Baylor of the Church of the Nazarene of Rapid City and the Rev. David McPherson, director of Youth With a Mission of Spearfish, will officiate. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Riverside Cemetery in Centerville. A memorial was established for Hillsview Church of the Nazarene in lieu of flowers.

Fidler Funeral Chapel of Spearfish is in charge of local arrangements. She was born March 25, 1930, at Deadwood to Arthur and Julia (Cong-don) Hauk. She grew up and attended schools in Lead. She married Kenneth Trebelcock June 13, 1948, at Spearfish. They lived in Spearfish until 1957 when they moved to Belle Fourche.

She married Glen Hoard Sr. July 27, 1979, at Belle Fourche. They lived in Belle Fourche and at a cabin at Iron Creek Lake. They traveled a lot, spending their winters in Yuma, Ariz. Her husband died Feb.

24, 1988. She moved to Spearfish in August 1988 and became a member of Hills-view Church of the Nazarene, where she taught Sunday school classes. She was Community Action Program coordinator for Lawrence, Butte, Harding and Meade counties, and for the city of Faith. She was a Sunday school teacher and was superintendent of the church school in the United Methodist Church in Belle Fourche for many years. She was a member of International Toastmistress Club, member and coordinator of the Kinship organization, a past member of the WSCS of the Methodist Church, and Business and Professional Women, all of Belle Fourche.

Survivors include six daughters, Kathy Erhart of Manhattan, Laura Hoard of Belle Glade, Teresa Nelson of Newcastle, Janice Dunlop of Lansing, Cheryl McMillian of Murdo and Kari Hoard of Arvada, eight sons, Kenneth Trebelcock Jr. of Redlands, Kevin Trebelcock of Huron, Fred Hoard of Fort Pierre, Robert Hoard of Hialeah, Glen Hoard Jr. of Belle Glade, John Hoard of Casper, Timothy Hoard of Sundance, and Ross Hoard of Arvada; 32 grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Lois Berry of San Bernadino, and Beulah Stanley of Ferris, Texas; and a brother, Frank Hauk Sr. of Black Hawk. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters and two brothers.

Alva Viola Burnap Services for Alva Viola Burnap, 82, will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Rapid City with the Rev. Bob Garrard officiating. Mrs. Burnap died Tuesday at a Rapid City nursing home.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Behrens Mortuary and one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Pine Lawn Memorial Park. She was born May 26, 1908, at Lacombe, Alberta, to William and Wilhelmina (Becker) Koerner and grew on the family homestead near Athabaska, Alberta. At the age of 17, she moved to Edmonton, Alberta, where she worked and attended night school.

At Edmonton, she was a member of First Presbyterian Church choir for 25 years and was involved in many church and community activities. In 1937, she married Raymond Burnap, M.D., and in in 1949 they moved to Glendale, Calif. Again, she was active in many community organizations, including the Glendale Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Glendale Symphony Orchestra. She a president of the Glendale High School PTA and vice president of the PTA Council and a member of the Presbyterian Church. In 1983, she went to China with a Presbyterian mission group In 1985, she moved to Rapid City and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Among survivors are a daughter, Carol M. Bostrom of Dayton, Te.in.; a son, Donald Burnap, M.D., of Rapid City; six sisters and three brothers; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents. Tom L. Odom PH1UP Services for Tom Odom, 63, Philip, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the American Legion Hall in Philip with the Rev. Don Lagge officiating.

Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Odom died Tuesday afternoon at his home in Rapid City. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Rush Funeral Chapel in Philip and for one hour before the service Friday at the American Legion Hall.

He was born Oct. 29, 1927, on his parents' ranch near Denton Valley, Texas, to Dorse P. and Lola (Klutts) Odom. He grew up on the ranch and received his first 11 years of education in the Denton Valley area. He graduated from Baird, Texas, High School in 1945.

He married Gaye Corn May 27, 1945, at Baird, Texas. They farmed and ranched in the Denton Valley area until November 1957, when they moved to a farm-ranch in Haakon County, north of Philip. Odom was a member of United Church, Presbyterian-Methodist, in Philip. He also was a member of Philip Masonic Lodge No. 153 and was a Haakon County commissioner for 12 years.

Survivors include his wife, of Philip; two sons, Tom Odom Jr. of Philip and Steve Odom of Baird; one daughter, Bonnie Shaw of Ogden, Utah; one brother, Blan Odom of Baird; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Odom Donald G. Hanson Services for Donald G. Hanson, 68, will be 10:30 a.m.

Saturday at South Park United Church of Christ with the Rev. Bruce Herrboldt officiating. Burial will be in Pine Lawn Memorial Park. He died Wednesday at his home in Rapid City. Among survivors are his wife, Martha Hanson of Rapid City; two sons, Larry Hanson of Rapid City and Brad Hanson of Gillette, two daughters, Janet Wipf and Sandy Muller, both of Rapid City; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Clinton Hanson of Sioux Falls and Wayne Hanson of Minnesota.
