Complete Spearfish Hatchery Pipeline Spearfish, Nov. 26 Completion of a new pipeline to improve the supply of water for the auxiliary hatchery building of the federal hatchery here, was announced this week. The pipeline replaces an under ground wood flume which was laid when the hatchery was constructed. It is expected to prove much more satisfactory, since It will carry a larger flow of water Into the hatchery and eliminate leaks which impaired the efficiency of the orig inal line.

The new line Js 736 feet long. It required a carload of eight and ten inch wood pipe for construction. The upper 300 feet la laid with ten-inch pipe In order to Increase the flow. The work was part of a WPA project of Improvements at the hatchery. A.

Payne said roofing finish would probably be laid shortly after the first of December. As soon as windows are put in, the structure will be completely enclosed and interior finishing will be begun. Howard Kramer said each of the instructors in the science, history, mathematics, economics and other departments would co-ordinate the teaching of composition with their regular instruction. A comprehensive English test was given to all pupils in grades to 12. A similar test will be given at the end of 12 or 18 weeks to determine whether the program has had any effect on the pupils in im proving their composition. Francis Repass is the chairman of the committee in charge of the program. Other members are June Walker, Karl Snyder, Winifred Andrews and Bernice Lown.

Fillmore. Englewood Rudolph Fahrni. Nemo Ed Virkula. Group Seeks Work On Highway 73 Lemmon, Nov. 26 Organized efforts are being made to bring about improvements in the condition of State Highway 73, from Lemmon south through Philip and Martin, and over the line into Nebraska, to Merriman.

The highway becomes No. 6 in Nebraska. A proposition to make the highway a link in a north and south route from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico is under consideration, and an organization has been perfected in South Dakota to ask the highway commission to Improve the road through this state. Principal towns on the route in this state are Lemmon and Shade-hill In Perkins county, Faith and Zeal in Meade county, Bridger, Hartley, Elbon and Philip in Haakon county; Kadoka in Jackson county, Long Valley in Washa-baugh county and Martin in Bennett county. A stretch of 30 miles south of Lemmon is gravelled, followed by the balance of the distance to Faith earth surface.

From Faith to Philip, 81 miles, is gravelled. South of Philip are about 20 miles of tar-via, to Kadoka, followed by 81 miles of gravel, six miles of tarvia and the remaining 13 miles of gravel to the Nebraska line. -VOTKE OF HEARING State of South Dakota, County of Pennington, gs.
