Later the market weakened and-big; packers tried hard to bay arrivals at steady prices, but few sales were made that way before trad.i again strengthened and close was firm. The average price at $7.96 was up 4c and top at $8.074 was 7fcc higher. Pigs reached and most good ones sold at $8.00 and better, with some plain ones below Trade was moderately active and shippers were credited with 6.000. while abont 3,500 went unsold, most of them in second hands. Quality was good and range of prices narrow.
