The old Liberty Bell which first rang out the news of freedom to the people, will visit Logansport tomorrow evening on its way to Chicago. It will have a prominent place in the World's Fair as it has always held a prominent place in the hearts of the people.

The special train, bearing the dignitaries and escort guard, which accompany it will arrive here-about 5 o'clock via the Parr Handle. The train will slop at the Fourth steet station and everyone will be given an opportunity to see the historic relic. A military salute will be fired, the bands and drum corps will be there to add to the enthusiasm and the school children will be educated to the patriotic spirit by attend- uig the demonstration in full force. Nothing will be left undone to make the affair entirely successful. A meeting of citizens was held at the council chamber this morning to formulate plans for the bell's reception.

The following official report of the meeting was given out for publication "At a meeting of citizens held in the council chamber this morning, Mayor Read was chosen chairman and H. DeWolfe secretary. The chair stated the object of the meeting viz to make arrangements for the proper reception of the Old Liberty Bell on its arrival in our city tomorrow, Friday after noon. The following gentlemen were appointed to meet the bell at Kokomo: Mayor Read, S. L.

Tanguy. corns, will march from rink to the station to meet the train bearing the bell and escort. The arrival of the train will be announced by salute of thirteen guna. There will be an address of welcome by Mayor Bead, and a response by Mayor Edwin S. Stuart of Philadelphia.

The schools will be dismissed at 3 o'clock to enable the I children to attend the meeting at the rink. It is hoped that the citizens generally will help malce this a long rememberad lesson in patriotism for oar young Committee. The railway officials received word at 3 o'clock this afternoon that the special bearing the Liberty Bell will arrive here at 4:20 tomorrow afternoon. Death Quickly Follows. A strangely fatal accident today bereaves the home of Mr. and Mrs, Nicholas Fries of their little son Robert, aged twenty months.

The little one, who was playing about the room with other children in his childish curiositv, began in vestigating a large trunk which stood open with its ponderous lie raised to full height. As the baby leaned over the edge of the trunk its weight jostled the receptacle and the lid fell heavily across its tender neck.

The parents, who were both in the home at the time, sprang to the baby's aid but it was past all hu man assistance. Dr. Arthur Herrmann was ba ti ly iummoned and arrived 'Just as the child had breathed its last. He made an examination and found that the neck had been broken The spinal cord had been snapped in two. The lifeless little body was carried to another room and Un dertakers Kroeger Strain were called.
