Streicher, Donald E. 'Don' Donald E. "Don" Streicher, age 87, a long-time Trevillion, Cynthia K. Beloved wife of John.

Devoted daughter of Cel and the late John Biener.Cherished sister of Krista Biener, and Bill Biener. Fond aunt of Maclyn Matt and Melissa.Cynthia was actively teaching at the Chicago Waldorf School and formerly of the Detroit Waldorf School. Cynthia worked with the Rogers Park Farmers Market and the Rogers Park Food was a Regional Representative of the Weston A. Price Foundation. Cynthia relished wholesome cooking and was an avid gardener.

She enjoyed swimming daily during the summers in Lake Michigan. She also had a shared passion for the Chicago Cubs and the Detroit Tigers. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Chicago Waldorf School 1300 Loyola Ave, Chicago, IL 60626. Don grew up in Chicago's West Side Austin neighborhood and attended Resurrection Grammar School and St. Philip High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1947-1954 during the Korean War, spending time aboard the USS Kula Gulf (CVE-108) aircraft carrier and attended the University of Oklahoma at Norman. Don began his work career employed with Trans World Airlines (TWA) and Sabena Belgian World Airlines and later entered the tourism industry as an international tour operator.

He was in partnership with Poly Tours, London, England; GlobusGateway Lugano, Switzerland; and then Unitours, Paris, France. A national and international leader in his industry, Don was an extraordinary man known for his extensive knowledge of travel, his strong character and integrity, acute intellect and sharp sense of humor. Don was honored by his industry with numerous awards including receiving the high honor of the Austrian Knight's Cross First Class in Gold for his achievements for the Republic of Austria, bestowed from the President of Austria; and the award in Gold for Merits for Austria's Tourism Industry worldwide, which is still the highest Austrian Tourism award. Don was selected into La Societe Internationale de Who's Who; the recipient of the Annual Holland Promotion Award; and selected as a member of the Heidelberg Prince Club. Don was a longtime member of St.

Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Lisle, IL and the Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873, Naperville. He was a Trustee of Rosary High School, Aurora, IL; a lifetime Member of the Abbot Marmion Society, Aurora, IL and a Chevalier in Confrerie de la Chaine Des Rotisseurs, Association Mondiale de la Gastronomie. Don was an avid traveler, reader, photographer, hunter and fisherman. He had a passion for good food shared with dear friends and family. Don will be remembered by family and friends as a caring and generous man who opened his heart and his home to many.

Visitation Saturday, October 28, 2017, AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Kingston and Front Streets, Lisle, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 1 1 :30 AM at the church.
