He would have been a brave man who had predicted, amid tbe ashes and desolation of last October, that in' five years Chicago capitalists would have ventured upon the organization of an insurance company. Scarce aix mouth bare passed since then, and not only is the venture made, but the thing la ao- compllsned. Tbe- Traders' Insarance Company of this elty is no stranger to our merchants and shippers. After an' honorable and profitable career; it withdrew from- business In L7, on account of the universal low rates then prevailing, and withdrew in such fashion that after paying all claims and safely reinsuring all its risks, it returned ta its stockholders the full amount of their stock with a handsome The charter of this excellent Company has been kept alive ever since, and bow It haa been reorganized ny some oi our very nest business men on a different from that of any other insurance company in the world.

Its capital is-one half million dollars, and, taught wisdom by the disasters of tbe past, every dollar of it Is to be Invested in registered Cnlted States bonds. This la a security which fire cannot consume, whioh rests upon the broad basis of the prosperity of the whole country, and whioh in an emergency is instantly convertible into cash. Tbe advantage of ao investing its funds will be apparent at a glance. Already 9300,000 of United Statea bonds have been purchased and registered for the Traders', and the balance of tbo capital will be paid In and similarly registered before the 6th of May. The organization of tbe company is such aa to commend It to the fullest extent to the confidence of the people.
