Strickland received word that Rev. Robert Amber died at the home of his father, near Urbana. He was pastor of the Christian church at North Manchester, but resigned short time ago, on account of failing health. Mcllvaiae, of this city received notification this morning that she had been recommended for the degree of Doctor of Medicine by the faculty of the Medical College which she has been attending the past year. She finished her examinations, nineteen in number ber on last Thursday and the lowest mark 6he received in any branch was 85 and the largest part of the others were nearer 100. A mark of 85 is con sidered an honorable mark, and it certainly ought to be a source of great satisfaction and gratification to the lady to receive such high grades in all her examinations. Dr.

Officer Davidson was considerably surprised Wednesday when one of the Indians belonging to the Wildest West show ran up to him and commenced shaking the officers hand. The officer soon recognized the savasre, they hay ing met in the west while Mr. David son was working on the building of a railway in that country a number of years ago, and where they became friends.

Marion Enyard, the mail carrier between here and Monument City, had a most successful operation performed on his horse, Friday the re moval of a tumor from the horse's breast. Dr. H.

O'Leary performed the surgical operation. The Champion Bridge company se cured the contract for the placing of an iron bridge across Loon creek in Dallas township and an iron bridge across Majenica creek in Lancaster township. The contract price for the bridge across Loon creek is $624, while the bridge across Majenica creek is $410. Mrs. Daniel Neuer and her daueh ter in law Mrs.

Wm. Smith with some other ladies were walking up to the show grounds Wednesday afternoon when a loose board on the sidewalk tilted up throwing the first two ladies to the ground heavily. Mrs. Neuer sprained: the index finger of her right hand very badly and she thought at first it was broken. Besides this she tore her dress.

Clinton Butler, the C. E. engi neer, has just closed a deal whereby he becomes the possessor of a farm of 110 acres in Clearcreek township. He traded his residence property, on Fred erick street, to Jacob Yantz for the farm of the latter. In the deal and besides the residence property, Mr.

While driving home after attend ing the evening performance of the Wildest West show, Wednesday. An derson Potts, wife and child, were severely bruised by being thrown from their buggy when about three miles south of the city on the Salamonie road. accident happened about midnight and was caused by thehorse they were driving becoming frighten ed and running down a steep embank ment, throwing the occupants out. Mr. Potts succeeded in holdine on to the lines and stopping 'the horse before serious injury was done.

When the buggy upset, the baby was thrown with its feet and legs between the spokes of the wheel and, would have been killed had it not been that the father succeeded in stopping the horse last at that tima. Dr. C. L. Wright was called and found no bones broken, but says that Mr.
