Claudia Stoker, left; and Came Davis, attended the Arkansas Tech Summer Music Camp which ended on Aug 6 with concerts by the bands and choruses, and demonstrations by twirlers. There were 425 students attending the camp which was under the direction of Gene Witherspoon, head of the Tech Music Department. Herb Hazelman of Greensboro. North Carolina, was the guest clinician for the first week of camp Colonel Arnold Gabriel of the United States Air Force, along with Witherspoon, directed the honors band for the Aug 6 concert Classes in marching, band, twirling, theory, music history, music appreciation, music literature, and music fundamentals were held dunng the camp.
