Wanamaker, who spent over two months abroad, looked the picture of health. When informed of Judge Hilton's death Mr. Wanamaker expressed deep regret without making any further comment. When Mr. Wanamaker was asked about his interview with the German Emperor he said: Both my interviews with the Emperor of Germany, covering nearly one hour, when he showed me no little courtesy, must be regarded as of such a nature that it would be highly indelicate for me to make it a subject of newspaper Interview.

This I feel free to say, however, that Kaiser is a broad-minded, far-seeing man, devoted to his country, and without narrow views as to the world at large. His love for his own country does not cloud his sense of the graces of the new "world, so largely German-American. I am sure that it will be no fault of his if the United States and the German Empire are not in closer alliance." According to Chief Edward F. It will huild new passenger and freight stations in the suburbs. The stations building in Albanv are part of the scheme. It will be the Centrals policy to sell its valuable real estate in the center of New York, Pougn-keepsie, Schenectady, Albany, Rochester, and Buffalo, and build new stations in the suburbs, while the millions coming from realty liquidation will go direct to the treasury.

The same policy will be adopted along the Chicago and Northwestern. Lake Shore. Omaha. Michigan Central, and other Vanderbilt lines, including, possibly, the Boston and Albany. The New York terminal is absorbing attention.

The Astor lands west of Cedar Park are naturally ideal for railroad uses. By the removal of freight stations and storage yards from the Forty-second street to the projected North Side terminal the Central would have many acres of property to dispose of in the heart of Manhattan. According to a recent report by Ira M. riace, head of the railroad's real estate department, lands that might be sold to builders and operators would net the railroad between $10,000,000 and $13,000,000. The Astor representatives admitted that negotiations were on for the sale of the 135 acres, but refuses to disclose the identity of the second party.
