In most cases for outrages upou women. What is thereat cause of this? Most certainly because the people have lost confieence in tho power of the Civil courts to mete out adequate justice (as in cases of rape, seduction, to these vile offenders, more outrageous than murder, itself. In their indignation and horror, they forget that civil law is ordained of God, and as they cannot see that He does not take signal vengeano upon thesd violatore of both Divine and 'Civil law, they are eager to take the law into their own hands, and feel that they ar justified, because the and ncertin de her of meets at their Casile Hull every Tuesday night. Dr.ily newspapers want to know why the Weekly press do not write more original matter for their columns. The lirst reason is, the original articles in the weekly press is generally overlooked, or not read at all, by the editors of the city Dailies, (and possiby by the majoi ity of readers) who ride their own well-groomed hobbies. Then again the editors of the city dailies have 'elitorial chairs', aud don't have to set type, make up forms, run a Waehingtoa hand press, do their own collecting, make fires, and scout around for grub to keep the wolf from the pantry door, hence the country editors have no editorial room where they can sit down quietly and clothe their mental geese with pit iocs, down and pin-feathers.
