Sunday, Sept. 7, 1986 Red Sox rally; Jays keep pace D2 Star-Tribune, Casper, Wyo. A i AL Rookie Pete Incaviglia hit two solo home runs and Orlando Mer-cado and Ruben Sierra also homered Saturday night as the Texas Rangers beat the Kansas City Royals 6-4. Incaviglia's homers were his 22nd and 23rd of the season, giving him a team record for home runs by a rookie. The old mark of 22 was set by Dave Hosteller in 1982.

Sierra broke a 4-4 tie in the sixth with his 10th homer, and Incaviglia homered on the next pitch from Sieve Farr, 8-4. Rookie Edwin Correa earned his ninth victory against 12 losses. Correa pitched six innings and allowed four runs, three of them earned. Dale Mohorcic relieved at the start of the seventh and earned his sixlh save. r-fe vT) 1 2A' By (he Associated Press BOSTON Marty Barrett drove in pinch runner Dave Henderson from second base with a two-out single in the ninth inning Saturday as the Boston Red Sox came from behind for the fifth consecutive game, edging the Minnesota Twins 3-2 for their seventh straight victory.

Seven games is Boston's longest winning streak of the season. The Red Sox, who tied the score with single runs in the seventh and eighth innings, pulled out the victory after reliever George Frazier, 0-1, retired the first two batters in the ninth. Pal Dodson beat out a ground single into the hole on the right side in his first major league at bat, and Wade Boggs walked. Blue Javs 4, While Sox 0 CHICAGO Jimmy Key out-dueled Floyd Bannister, and George Bell hit a fourth-inning homer as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Chicago While Sox 4-0 Saturday. Key, 12-9, allowed three singles and a double over eight innings in keeping Toronto 5Vi games behind first-place Boston in the American League liast.

Stan Javier lined a two-out single to left to drive in Jose Canseco with the winning run and lift the Oakland A's over the Detroit Tigers 5-4 in 10 innings Saturday. Canseco started the inning with a one-out walk off Detroit's Bill Campbell, 3-6, who relieved starter Jack Morris to start the 10th. After Canseco stole second, Jerry Willard grounded out to send Canseco to third.

Mariners 6, Orioles 2 BALTIMORE Mike Morgan pitched a five-hitter for his first career victory against Baltimore and Phil Bradley and Jim Presley drove in two runs apiece in the first two innings Saturday night as the Seattle Mariners defeated the Orioles 6-2. Morgan, 10-15, entered the game with an 0-8 lifetime record and 5.22 earned run average against Baltimore. The Orioles lost for the 12th time in 14 games. The Mariners had seven of their 1 1 hits in the first two innings, and for the second straight game every player in the lineup hit safely.

The victory boosted the Reds to 70-65, the first time they've been five games over .500 this season. Dodgers 3, Phillies 2 PHILADELPHIA Fernando Valcnzuela pitched a six-hitter and struck out a season-high 14 Saturday night as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Philadelphia Phillies 3-2. Valenzuela, leading the National League in victories, raised his record to 18-9 by beating the Phillies for the fourth time without a loss this year.
