Carter left Monday for Love-land, where he probably work in the beet factory this winter. He will return to Oaspeiy however, in March and organize a good shearing crew to shear the bands of sheep for many of the flockmasters for whom he has been doing shearing for a number of years. Henry Van Kleeck, a capitalist from Denver, was in Casper the latter part of last week for the purpose of looking over the country with a view of making investirnents. In company with M. P.

Wheeler he visited the Muddy country on Friday and was very favorably impressed with the fine ranches he visited. The Johnnie Pringle company left Saturday morning for Denver. The troupe was not greeted with a full house during their stay in this city, and Mr. Pringlo was unlucky all around during his stay here. There was a jangle amontr the players, the head man was sick several days, and It was the worst time of the year to come here with a show.

The company will be re-organized in Denver and a visit to Casper will be made later in the season. To Sheepmen of Central Wyoming. I have sold 43f bead of yearling Rambouillet bucks this week. Have sent 350 of them to DouglaB. I have 200 to 300 two-year-olds on hand.

They are actually the best and cheapest bucks ever offered for sale In Central Wyoming. I have also 50 yearlings and will be glad to show them to intending purchasers. They are sired from imported rams and thoroughbred ewes. I will take cash for bucks; will also take notes. Any man making the right kind of a talk to me can get them on his own terms.

Pat Sullivan. Dipping Sheep. Every band of sheep in Natrona county with the scab or which has been exposed to the scab will have to be dipped this year, and the flock-master who dips his sheep, will, of course, want to use the best dip, a dip which will have the desired effect-one which will cure the scab.

J. K. Calkins has retired as editor of the Thermopolis Pilot. He brought the Pilot up to its present high standard as a newspaper, and the readers of the Pilot will regret that he has given up his place upon the paper, Mr. Calkins will, no doubt, again take up the pencil on some other Wyoming newspaper, Wanted.

F. Salathe received a telegram from New York City the latter part of last week which brought the sad news of the death of her father. Gillman A. Hackett was a city visitor this week on business. Mr.

Hackett is owner of the Buxton blacksmith shop which has been temporarily closed, Joe Snider returned Monday even-g from Omaha where he had been with a shipment of cattle. He topped the market with his 3-year-old steers, receiving $4.65. Dennis Sheehan received $7 per hundred for two steers weighing 1,490 pounds, at South Omaha last week. Over one hundred dollars for a steer is not a bad price. F.

H. Sawyer came in from Kaycee last Friday and on Saturday went to Orin Junction to meet Mrs. Sawyer, who returned from a couple of weeks' visit in Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs, Sawyer departed for their home on Sunday.

The Simmons Hardware Co. of St. Louis, is the largest house of the kind in this country and the only heating stove they handle is the Wilson. Last season they sold sixty thousand of them. Now if you are wanting a heater buy a Wilson and I will guarantee you will nover regret it.

Timber within a few miles of Lander has been burning for three months, and the fire-fighters have given up hopes of even checking the flames.

Last week the smoke was so thick in Lander that a great many people were compelled to remain in doors. A train load of horses are being brought in from the Sweetwater country, which will be shipped to market from here on Saturday.

Sam Johnson returned Tuesday evening from Omaha where he had been with a shipment of cattle, and for which he price. received a satisfactory Wm. Moses, the sheriff from Belle Fourche, was in Casper yesterday, having come down from the Big Horn mountains, where he had been for a couple of weeks.
