Residence Phone 365-J Epworth League "Hobo" Unique Affair The members of the Epworth League had a most hilarions time Friday evening at their "Hobo party." Everyone was bidden to look his worst and the various effects produced would have made "Weary Willie" feel like a millionaire. The party gathered at the church parlors and from there they went to the houses of the different members, where the back doors they obtained the coveted "eats." The evening was taken up progressing from house to house, and much merriment was evoked over the affair. After finally doing justice to everything that had been handed out to them, they adjourned to the Methodist Church parlors, where it was voted by the members of the party that Edwin Hathaway was the most original looking hobo and he received first prize for same. The remainder of the evening was spent in playing games and the party broke up at a late hour.

Edness Kimball Finds New School Is Attractive In a very interesting letter from Miss Edness Kimball, former society editor of The Tribune, she states that she is very much impressed with the University of Nebraska, the there being even more difficult than in the Kentucky University, where she attended last year. Miss Kimball was able to obtain all the studies she desired in her journalistic course, and finds the work most attractive. She has been pledged to the Delta Gamma Sorority, one of the leading societies in that school, and among other prominent girls in this same sorority is Miss Ruth Bryan, daughter of W. J. Bryan.

Miss Kimball is an unusually bright and talented young lady, and her many here will be pleased to hear such an interesting report from her. Billy Cobb Taking Kansas University Law Course Billy Cobb, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. H.

Cobb of this city, has recently entered the University of Kansas at Lawrence, Kansas, and is pursuing his law course there. He has just completed a summer course at Ann Arbor, Mich. Mr. Cobb, was prosecuting attorney of Wyandott County, Kansas, from 1892 to 1896, and his many friends there are making it very pleasant for Billy, who is already very enthusiastic over the school. Young Cobb graduated from the University last June with signal honors and is obtaining an excellent law course at different universities.

He is one of Casper's most ambitious young men and will undoubtedly make a name for himself in his career as a lawyer. Pretty Wedding Occurs at Midwest This Morning A very pretty but quiet wedding occurred at the Midwest Hotel Tues. day morning, when Miss Ruth Pauline Henderson of Pasadena, and Mr. Thomas J. Brubaker of Glenrock were united in Miss derson and her father arrived in the morning with E.

S. Brubaker, the continued, while plans for the dance to be given by the Auxiliary on tion night were discussed. This dance is to be a ten-cent dance, instead of the usual dollar affair, and every one is urged to remember the date. After a most successful evening's hostess served light refreshments, the next meeting will be held with Mrs. Leigh Townsend at the Townsend residence on Wolcott street.

Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Alsop, who have been visiting at the Brooks ranch for several days, left Tuesday for their home in Wisconsin, They are very well pleased with the West, and especially enthusiastic over the Brooks ranch.

Mrs. Alsop attended the Womens' Club meetings in Sheridan with Mrs. Brooks and greatly enjoyed the work. Mr. and Mrs.

Warren Bailey returned Sunday from a short wedding trip, after the ceremony, which occurred in Geneva, last Wednesday. They will be at home to their friends in Casper from now on. Mrs. Robert B. W.

Hutt, wife of Rev. Hutt, submitted to an operation this week at the State Hospital, and her friends will be pleased to learn that she is recovering nicely, The operation was performed by Dr. J. F. Leeper.

Mrs. W. O. Wilson left Sunday evening on the Burlington for Denver to be gone away about a week shopping and visiting with friends. Mrs.

P. C. Nicolaysen and daughter, Miss Maren, left Sunday evening on the Burlington for Denver, where they will remain for a week or more on a shopping tour. The members of the Ladies' Democratic Club held an enthusiastic meeting last night at the Parish house and outlined plans which they hope to carry out during the present cam. paign.

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth McDonald arrived last night from their home on the Willow Creek ranch and will remain in town for a few days. Mrs. McDonald expects to leave in a few days for Omaha, where she will meet her sister, Mrs.

Walter Highlands, and from there the ladies will go to their old home in Pennsylvania for a visit with their mother. Mr. McDonald will remain in Casper until he can ship his stock, after which shipment he intends to go back to his ranch. Ex-Gov. B.

B. 'Brooks and his daughter, Miss Melissa Brooks, drove in from their ranch this afternoon in their Chalmers roadster. They report the roads in much better condition some distance out of Casper than' they are around town. After attending to business and shopping they returned to the Brooks ranch. The St.

Marks Guild will meet at the home of Mrs. R. W. Adams at 437 South Center street, this afternoon, with Mrs. Adams and Mrs.

Love as hostesses. All members are urged to be present. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hawks returned Sunday evening from a short honeymoon spent in the northern part of the State.

They will make their home in Casper, but as yet they have not obtained a house. Mrs. A. J. Cunningham returned home Wednesday afternoon from a delightful three months' vacation at her summer home in Maine.

Mrs. Scott Clemons will entertain all of the Rebecca ladies at her home Mrs. H. Rathvon and daughter arrived here this morning from Denver, and will make their home in this city in the future. Mr.

Rathvon is in charge of Midwest operations in the Big Muddy field. Mrs. P. C. Nicolaysen and daughter, 4 Maren, left Sunday evening for Denver where they will spend several visiting and shopping.

Mrs. 0. L. Walker has returned to her home after an extended visit with her relatives in the East. LOCAL HAPPENINGS A.

Stack of the firm of Schuyler Schuyler of Denver was in town several days last week on business in connection with his firm. Ralph Hall of Boulder has been transferred from Big Muddy oil fields to the Midwest offices here. 0 0 Fred Bragg, well known ranchman from Nowood, arrived in town Friday evening on the Burlington, and is shaking hands with his friends here while attending to business matters, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Lummis returned yesterday morning from a short visit to Cheyenne and Denver.

While in Cheyenne they visited at the the home of Mr. Lummis. 0. Judge J. A.

Riner of the United States Federal Court in Cheyenne and Charles Ohenhous, clerk of the Federal Court in that city, passed thru Casper Monday en route to Lander to open the October term of the Federal Court there. 0 C. L. Rigdon, United States district attorney at Cheyenne; Charles Ambrose and Sheriff Mat McCourt of Sweetwater County, were visiting in Casper Monday between trains, en route to Lander to attend the October term of the Federal Court. 0 Joy and sadness came to the Duncan McClain family, Sunday, when Mr.

McClain passed away following an operation, and within a few hours after the birth of a baby girl to his wife. The mother has withstood the shock with much pluck despite the grief which she had to shoulder, Attorney G. R. Hagens returned Sunday from Rawlins, where he walked the hot sands of the Shrine ceremonial and as a result still limps and is slightly disabled with other minor ailments--like all good Shriners-but recover in time. 0 0.

Jack Crow, both of Glenrock. The wedding took place on the balcony of the hotel, the groom's father, who is a German-Baptist minister, performing the ceremony. The ceremony was witnessed only by Miss Smith and Mr. Crow. Following the ceremony a luncheon was served in the grill to the wedding party.

Some of the groom's numerous friends in Glenrock expect to drive cars up in the morning to meet the newlyweds and their party and take them back, giving them a royal when they arrive. Mrs. Brubaker is a very charming and attractive young woman, and will undoubtedly make a host of friends in Wyoming. Mr. Brubaker is wellknown here in Glenrock and the surrounding country, owning a ranch and stock interests in that vicinity.

They expect to make their home on Mr. Brubaker's ranch. Miss Seeley Departs for Her Home in New York Miss Frances Seeley, niece of Mrs. L. D.

Seeley of this city, left Tuesday for her home in Olean, N. Y. Miss Seeley has spent the summer as the guest of her aunt and dur. her stay here has been the inspiration for many social events, and it is with great regret that her many friends learn of her departure. Tho Miss Frances moved away from Casper a number of years ago for the East to live with her mother and sister, she is enthusiastic over the West and all that is Western, and is a good booster for Casper.

Fortnightly Club at the Home of Mrs. Nicolaysen The first meeting of the Fortnightly Auction Club met at the home of Mrs. P. C. Nicolaysen Saturday afternoon.

A delicious course luncheon was served by the hostess, after which the afternoon was spent pleasantly at the card tables, auction bridge being the game played in this club. Mrs. A. H. Cobb and Mrs.

J. B. Barnes acted as hostesses for two of the members who were absent. Mrs. C.

A. Wetherill Entertains In Honor of Her Mother On last Thursday afternoon Mrs. C. A. Wetherell entertained in honor of her mother, Mrs.

Milliken, of Al. liance, Neb. Sixteen ladies enjoyed Mrs. Wetherell's hospitality. The afternoon was spent which in fancy work and; music, after a very four-course luncheon was served.

The tables were beautifully decorated with pink and white carnations. Those present with the hostess and guest of honor were Mesdames Sprowl, Sadler, Aishton, Dennis, Swartz, Phelan, Rhinemuth, Foley, Hutton, Biederman, Maxon, Gurley, Wilson, Stewart, Myers and Cummings, St. Mark's Auxiliary Meeting at Mrs. Breisch's The members of the St. Mark's Auxiliary met last evening with Mrs.
