New York. Burglars blew open the safe in the store of Koester Welner, commission merchants at 14 and 15 Manhattan Market, and obtained $6 in silver. The burglars first forced the lock on the front door and, after boring a hole in the cemDlriatlon of the Bate, poured in an explosive, piled bags of potatoes on the safe and exploded the charge. They were evidently keenly disgusted, for, in leaving, they put a new lock on the front door in place of the one they had smashed.
