Usley, of Ascension parish, yesterday morning. On Monday next, onr friends, Frederick Toups and Sostlieno Bourgeois, will begin rice cutting in this parish. He will open Gourt here on Monday uext. Dr. Stein's horse patient, "Old Grey" is dead, and the doctor refuses to be comforted. So many days and nights of toil aud bomoepatbic attendance were certainly deserving of a better ending. They bave onr sympathy, Mrs.

Urban, a sister ol Judge Hahn, her two daughters, Mrs. Maes aud Miss Maggie, with her son Albert and grandson Urban, returned to New Orleans last Wednesday, after a short, but wc trust, pleasant visit to our village. We are again called upon to annouco another 'death iu Hahnville. The infant child of onr fellow townsman, L. Bernard, died on Sunday last after a long and painful ill ness.

Our sympathies are extended to the afflicted parents. Jules D'Arensbourg, Pierre War field aud James Warfield were arrested Thursday evening ou ebargeofobtaininggoodsand money to the amount of $120,90 from Au tbony Madere.
