Leona TOompson, 86, of near Paris, north married to the former Leonra DinRham of Sturgeon who preceded him in death. Mrs. Anderson was an aunt of Mrs. Annabel Crum of Renick. Surviving are three sons, Adalbert Anderson, Long view, Vetton Anderson and John Anderson, Flint; three daughters, Mrs.

Weldon Goodwin and Mrs. Hazel Kolbe, Flint, and Mrs. Marguerite Megee, Jacksonville, one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Durham, Miami, and several a i a grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs.

Jewell Seymour and Mrs. Gene Adams, Moberly, are nieces and Miss Nikki Adams, Moberly, is a great- niece. Funeral and burial will be Thursday in Flint. The body is at the Groves Funeral Home. patient at the hospital 15 days.

She was born Aug. 20,1884, in Kansas, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Finis Ewing. Mrs.

Thompson had lived in the Marr community near Paris since 1946. She was married to Ira Thompson, who died in 1958. Surviving are one son, Fred, with whom she lived. The body is at the Agnew Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Burial will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery at Paris.

Mrs. Lucille Funeral services were held in St. Louis recently for Mrs. Lucille Borgmeyer McDoungh, former Moberly resident, who died Feb. 10.

Burial was at St. Louis. Mrs. McDoungh was the widow of John M. McDoungh, who preceded her in death in August, 1956.

She was born and Sam Jones Crutchfield, 79 to Moberly, the daughter fe-tong resident of Moberlyi Fr ank Borgmeyer and c.in TJ Katnerine McCoy Borgmeyer. Mrs. McDoungh was educated Sam Crutchfield died i at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Community Hospital. He made his hpme at 1315 Henry street.

Butt-gear Moberly, the son of Stapleton and Emma Baker Crutchfield, he is survived by three brothers, Arthur, Clarence and Joe Crutchfield, all of Moberly; one half-brother, Stapleton Crutchfield, also of Mobsrly; three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Gaines, Moberly; Mrs. Addie Beaver, Kansas City, and Mrs. Laura Caldwell, Hannibal; one half-sister, Mrs. Pearlie Kirkendoll, Moberly, and several nieces and nephews.

The body is at Million, Greer and 'Comstock Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 2 pjn. Friday. Burial will be in Siifear Creek Cemetery. ai.u Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. John Penick were guests Sunday of friends in Holden.

left Monday for Fort Collins to visit with the Thorntons. Angela Joy Eravi Mr. and Mrs. David Earl Eravi, 616 South Fifth, are the parents of their second child, a 7- pound, 14-ounce daughter, born at 8:23 p.m. Tuesday in Woodland Hospital.

She has been named Angela Joy. The other child is James David, 2. Mrs. Eravi is the former Miss Ruth Elaine Hannah of Moberly. Melvin Whitiey Honored by MU KEYTESVILLE-Melvin C.

Whitiey, Columbia, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Whitiey of Keytesville, has been nominated by the University of Missouri, Columbia, to appear in the 197071 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Melvin is a senior honor student at the University majoring, in accounting. His wife, Sharon, a graduate of the University is employed as a dietition for the school.

Honor Mrs. Tucker HIGBEE-Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Tucker were hosts recently to a birthday dinner in honor of Mrs. Tucker.

Mrs. Nellie Hudson, a niece, baked and presentewd a birthday cake to the honoree. Guests included Thomas Ancell, Debbie, Ronnie, Tina and Penny Grapes. Moberly Monitor-Index Evening Democrat, Feb. Kinney Is Eulogized As Great Statesman It figures! ST, LOUIS (AP) Missouri State Sen.

Michael Kinney was eulogized today as a great statesman and "a public servant who never grew weary of serving his fellow man." Bishop Joseph A. Me Nicholas celebrated the funeral mass in the Old Cathedral on the Mississippi riverfront which was part of Kinney's old senatorial district. He served in the Senate from 1912 until 1968 and died in a Jefferson City hospital Friday night at the reported age of 97. Bishop Me Nicholas prayed 'that God will justly reward him for the good deeds of his life." He said the mass was offered for the repose of Kinney's soul "at the end of a life of long and dedicated service" to Missouri and St. Louis.

He said friends and enemies alike would acknowledge that Kinney's life was a living example of the Biblical gospels of love and charity for his fellow men. The bishop noted that Kinney had befriended all segments of society and all were represented at the funeral services in the historic 1834 cathedral. They Included rich and poor, working people and financiers. Many of the men and women in the congregation were gray-haired and bent. Almost all were misty- eyed.

They included Lt. Gov. William S. Morris, Secretary of State James C. Kirkpatrick, State Treasurer William E.

Robinson, Supreme Court Chief Justice Fred L. Henley, Judge Robert Donnelly, Col. E. I. "Mike" Hockaday, Missouri Highway Patrol superintendent, Mayor A.

J. Cervantes and many other governmental officials. The Missouri Senate came in a body and all but a few members were present. They sat in an honored position at the front of the church. Before the funeral mass the Senate paid its last respects to Kinney at the funeral home.

Afterward the senators boarded a chartered bus to return to Jefferson City for afternoon committee meetings. Kinney was buried in Calvary Cemetery next to the grave of his wife. Tri-County NAACP Plans To Meet Here The Tri-City NAACP chapter will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the conference room at the Municipal Auditorioum. Roosevelt Oliver, Moberly, president of the Tri-County NAACP, reports that he attended a state NAACP executive board meeting in Jefferson City Saturday.

He said the board Missouri branches concentrate and place special emphasis on problems of discrimination employment and housing in the Moberly, Kirksville and Macon areas. To promote membership campaigns. That the Housing and Urban Development Agency (HUD) be requested to investigate hiring practices of a construction company working in the Moberly community. Paris Club Meets PARIS Mrs. David Charlick gave the program, "Family when the Cradle to College Club met recently in the home of Mrs.

Wayne Miller with 12 members present. Club members reported collecting $502.55 in the Mother's March for Birth Defects, and stated all funds are not yet turned in. In Shelbina PARIS Mrs. Lottie Vaughn of Paris, who has been under treatment at Woodland Hospital, has gone to the home of a relative in Shelbina for a while.
